This story is just incredibly haunting. I have read it several times in the past, and I was very happy to see it added to the archives. What a marvelous, dark vision of what could have been. Obi-Wan and Anakin's characterizations were spot-on. Bravo, obaona!

I'd like to thank my betas, Pallas-Athena for sticking with me through the writing of this story, and Gabri for beta'ing so quickly when I decided to submit it here. It was written basically in response to how Ep. III affected me - I wrote it whenever I was upset as a carthasis. ;) I hope people enjoy it. :)

This was chilling, and I really, really liked the POV. It almost made me feel like Obi-Wan and Anakin, since Obi-Wan used the "you" form so much. Very effective.

If only it could have happened like that. It's certainly not ideal, but compared to the truth...

A beautiful piece. Obi-Wan's deep love for Anakin is wonderfully expressed here. It was also interesting to see an AU story about Anakin becoming Emperor like he wanted (inspiring me to write a similar story, but with a different twist).

I've also read this before, but it's been a while, and I was quite pleased to read it again. One word sums this up: perfect. I'm serious, it's exactly what anyone wishes for who is seeking a Vader-Obi redemption fic. Thank you so much for writing this, and if you ever wrote a sequel I can assure you that I wouldn't be the only one to be thrilled and overjoyed.

The emotion in this piece is beautiful and deeply moving. As a reader, I experienced Obi-Wan's pain, regret, desperate love, and finally hope. It does not often happen, but by the very end tears had gathered in my eyes. A truly magnificent piece.
