Pretty good missing scene...a nice fic...sort of sets the scene for Dooku's turning quite well!

Nice fic...but the Count refering to Qui Gon as Padawan didn't really gel, seems a little disrespectful because Qui Gon is a full fleged Jedi Knight and no longer in training. I definitley enjoyed the plot and the set-up. Keep up the good work!!

Excellent idea. And a smart explanation for how Yoda learns the rule of two, which he quotes at the end of TPM... why would he know that? Dooku told him. Good thinking. :)

I actually think that "padawan" would be a term, like "son," which the master would use affectionately throughout the former apprentice's life--this is the closest thing they have to a family, so the term is one of endearment, not belittlement.

I really enjoy reading about Qui Gon Jinn and his former master Dooku and you can notice rught away that the two share a similar belief in the Jedi Council. Reflecting on Count Dooku's faith in the Republic shows in his former apprentice Qui Gon, by how he would always go against the Jedi Councils wishes and how he would also defy the Councils decisions.

Since I beta Read this I know it's good. But I just have to confirm it: This is one of the better missing scenes out there, and I don't normally like scenes without Obi Wan in them or talked about.
Hope you keep it up!

Darn it, you got there first! A brilliant little fic - insightful and affectionate, with just that little touch of foreboding. Loved it!

Great story! The interaction between Qui-Gon and Dooku felt real, as if this is exactly what they would say to each other.

Very Good! I liked it alot and like others have said one can imagine Dooku saying those things

If I'm not mistaken this conversation should never have taken place since according to AOTC Dooku left the Jedi Order long before Qui Gon found Anakin. Look at the bust of Dooku in the Jedi library. To be honored one must have been long gone and remembered.

Actually Kwan, Dooku left after Qui-Gon was killed, so this story could still fit in continuity. I want to see a story with Dooku and Qui-Gon as a young Padawan! Two Jedi well over six feet tall? That's the most formidable master/apprentice pair I can imagine!

Qui-gon was not just a knight but a jedi master and I have done more research as I have always thought of Qui-gon very intresting. I found that he was also the best swordmaster Dooku ever trained. This work was great thanks.

Fernwithy......it is known fact that the Sith are always two. This leads waaaaaaay back to Darth Bane. Anywho....good fic. I liked it. One question though. Why would the council give ear to either of the two. They are considered rebels. Qui-Gon never warned them of anything, so I'm a bit confused.

I enjoyed the story a lot, it was well written and you had a good sense of the characters. I also liked the way that Count Dooku seeded to have a double meaning when he spoke of the power the Jedi had never dreampt of. I also wanted to recommend the book Legacy Of The Jedi, if you haven't read it yet. It follows the relationships of Master and Padawan from Yoda and Dooku, to Obi-wan and Anakin. Keep writing such great stories!

This scene would work really well as an added scene to "The Phantom Menace"... which goes to show just how well-written it is, that it feels like it could be inserted directly into the films.

Nice job.
