Very interesting....I liked the idea of what Obi-Wan would be doing on Tatooine all that time. He doesn't really seem like the angry or hateful type. However, with such catastrophic events, it seems understandable. Bravo.

Thank you. Anyway, my intention was to show he was initially angry, but that the emotion faded in time, and he grew to have at least some measure of peace.

I'd like to thank my betas, LadyPadme and Amidala_Skywalker. You're both sweethearts, and practically deserve co-author status for all the times you beta-ed this work.

Many thanks to Cosmic for doing the cover. It's beautiful. The background images are of the Appalachian Mountains (I *think*), and our own Milky Way. As some may have noticed, the cover has virtually nothing to with the story. Well, I told the cover artist to go wild and have fun, and after a few emails, we got a fun cover.

To anyone who chooses to comment, thanks in advance. I wrote the story to get the title, since it wouldn't get out of my head. I sleep without dreams of plot bunnies these days, so its worth it. I'm sure some will disagree how I wrote Obi-Wan, and I don't normally write him so dark, but that was kind of the point of the story. Anywho, time to stop babbling. ;)

oba,
Congratulations on yet another beautiful addition to the archives! I actually *like* it when Obi-Wan is portrayed like this. I know that others would strongly disagree, but he is human. He has emotions, and Episode III is a rough time. "To be angry is to be human."
Good work. Keep writing!!!!

It's a good story. There seems to be a lot Obi Wan stories popping up as of late what with Episode 3 comming out in another two years. The wait continues but until then we'll have good stories like these to read to hold us over.

WOW...Obi Wan is human after all!!! True to life how people tend to bame others for the all the hardships in their lives until finally, they look into the mirror and realize that it's the one returning the gaze that is at fault. Great Job O!-thanks

Fantastic! This is a well written story and I hope George Lucas sees it. One can feel the pain and regret Ben felt as a result of his failure w/ Anakin.

I thought this was well done and I think you did a nice job on Obi-Wan. After all, how could he not have had any bitter feelings or guilt after all that had happened?! Keep up the good work!

Thank you! I appreciate your comments muchly. I'm glad I'm not alone in thinking that this could be. And yes, I'm sure there will be many more Ep. III fics coming along . . . we're forgetting AOTC, and lookin' towards the future.

Yes, this was rejected the first and (I think) the second time. So thanks to anyone and everyone who beta-ed this.

Thanks again. I adore getting comments. :)

Great One! Wonderfully Written. But I do have one comment that I may be tackled for. Obi-Wan wouldnt think of his teachings and his failure as sins, he wouldnt even think of them as sins at all. The Jedi are very -- um -- kept together. And Jedi are not to think badly of themselves, for that leads to the Dark Side. So he wouldnt think of his life's work that -- went down -- as sins or a failure, for that is not the way of the Jedi.
Anyways, great story, well written. Besides my comments above, Obi-Wan's thoughts really show how he feels inside. Very Deep. Great!

I had thought that personal feelings could only be expressed best if the feelings were presented in first person. Obaona, you have proved me wrong. Excellent, as always.

I love your writting Oba, I love it when people write about Obi-Wan's time on Tatooine and show his conflicts. Excellent, considering Episode III hadn't even come out, it didn't touch too much on that, that was kind of a safe thing to do, but it's a wonderful story, short and enjoyable. I like the darker thoughts of Obi-Wan.

Awesome story, yet again ;)

Wow. I like...very much like what Obi-Wan would feel. Of course, he did cry in Ep. 3, but still, he probably didn't even notice. After all, if you're fighting in a volcano, you do have a few other things to worry about...Seriously, though, great job.
