Before anyone asks the obvious question - "But what about Leia?" - I will answer it. I believe Obi-Wan never knew about Leia. Think about the ESB scene were Luke is blasting off from Dagobah. The ghostly Obi-Wan says, "That boy was our last hope," and Yoda replies, "No, there is another." Why would Obi-Wan have said that if he had known about Leia? So ... -- That's just my take on things. :-)
Happy reading,
Quiller

Once again, I like this story a lot, Quiller. I like the way you make small references to many events (e.g. when Obi-Wan thinks "Why couldn't friendship..."); they are small, yet noticable and add a nice touch to the story. Also the way Obi-Wan didn't call Luke by his name, yet wished to do so; it was very poignant.

Thanks for a beautiful tale.

Read and Loved it. Quiller is one of the best FanFic authors out there and this story stays right in line with the rest of Quiller’s stories.

Great grasp of the characters and I like the look at Beru’s and Obi-Wan’s friendship.

Great story! I like the idea that OB1 never knew about Leia until after Yoda's comment in ESB. After such a long time, Yoda and OB1 got to compare notes. Thus, in ROTJ, we have OB1 reveal to Luke what he knows from his perspective and from what Yoda told him. The concept that OB1 didn't know, great idea! I don't, however, like how so many stories assume Owen hates/dislikes OB1. I could understand Owen wishing to keep Luke safe. But, I have often just thought it was an act to keep Luke away from OB1. Anywho, again, great story. Keep writing.

i don't think your disclaimer above was needed--i thought it was obvious in the way you wrote the story that obi wan wasn't going to find out about leia being born. you did a good job of letting us know that.

anyway, i like this story. good job!

I definetely agree with you about Leia- WAAAAAY too many people graze over that oh-so-important line.

Nice vignette! I could definently see this happening. I love how you weaved Leia in like that. I've never thought about Obi-Wan not knowing about Leia, but it fits perfectly!

That was terribly beautiful. The interaction between Obi-Wan and Luke was priceless. How wonderful it would have been to see Obi-Wan caring for Luke as his father! You've shown priceless talent here, Quiller. I loved every second of it. You made such nice touches to it, it was irresisable to like. Excellent, faboulous job!

I agree - your disclaimer was not needed. Your story speaks for itself and is so lovingly crafted and vivid that it is impossible not to be convinced. I was struck most of all by the deep tenderness in your tale and in the telling. It's just lovely.

You did it again, Quiller! *laughs* :p This was wonderful. I laughed aloud at the diaper-changing scene, ignoring the quizzical looks of my coworkers. This was so... poignant. I love the way you write Obi-Wan - no one does better. :p *grins*

You write such awesome stories. I love the way you captured Obi-Wan's sarcastic, dry sense of humor, many people forget that... I also like the way you incorporated the fact about Obi-Wan not knowing about Leia, you stay true not only to the movies, but to books and series as well. That would be hard considering how many there are. Anyway, a truly Force-inspired story, I hope there are more to come.
