That was cool. The medical jargon and surgery really gave a sense of tragedy and drama to the whole story. I do wonder, though, would Palpatine still be "Supreme Chancellor" or would he be "Emperor" by now?

That was such a cool story! I have read several fics on the same basis as that, but the medical jargon made this one the best.

I loved the pacing of this and my eyes nearly bugged out of my head when the medic suggested using a Jedi Healer. I knew that wouldn't go over well. This was a very innovative approach to the inevitable.

I'd like to thank my wonderful betas, rhonderoo and Qui-Gon Tim, for their invaluable time, effort, and encouragement. I'd also like to thank rhonderoo for the very nice cover art. You two are the best!

Great job, and a good use of all the medical terms and actions. Liked the interplay when one suggest it would be better for the patient to pass on. Good work all around.

Cool job! I liked the part about the lung transplant in the future... I always suspected that Palpatine was keeping Vader cripled so he wouldn't try to over throw him.

Good work and MTFBWY!

Wow, that was pretty amazing! I'd never thought about how damaged Anakin must have been to become Darth Vader. You really made me feel for him - something that I didn't think could happen.

Excellent story! I work in the operating department of a hospital and the medical jargon was perfect and helped add to the sense of reality to the story. Top marks!

This was a very nice peice of work. The medical jargon was done very well (which is not something which can usually be said often even when the author is in the medical field) and actually was explained enough to make sense to a non-medical reader like myself.

Palpatine taking the medical team into custody was a very nice touch, and completely in character.

Is it sacrelige to say that I prefered this version to ROTS?

This actually fits in quite nicely with Ep. III - it might qualify as a "missing scene" now.

Good job.

Excellent work! It was very detailed, with suitable medical jargon appropriate for such a story, yet explained in such a way that a reader unfamiliar with it would still be able to understand what it was supposed to convey.

I like the way in which you said that it would be merciful to let Darth Vader die instead of trying to fix him completely. Indeed, the pain that Vader must have felt is something that none of us could have imagined, and at this point of time, the only thing that we're left to wonder about is: did Vader want to live on?

I felt like I was watching one of those televised surgery shows (which, BTW, I am a fan of). Like the POV of the med staff. I always thought they had their work cut out for them with Vader's injuries. Makes you look at him very differently -
less cyborg, more man living in life support machine. Good work.

Well done, I had always felt bad and sympathy for Anakin/Vader and just wished his agony would be over soon.
You pushed that beyond sypmathy and touched a side that the movie rarely touches to, the fact that Anakin/Vader is human and that he, too had feelings. Not only was he in physical pain, but emotional pain of the startling revalation that he killed his wife, a fact that he'd live with for the rest of his life. The pain of his brother, his mentor, his father-like figure now his mortal enemy.
Good Job, you brought all those feeling down this tear-stained face. Congrats!
Good Job and I look forward to reading more of your work.

Very well done. I liked ROTS, but felt that there should have been more medical dialogue and description of injuries instead of making it look as though Vader had been slapped together. This should have been in movie. And yes, the compassion this makes me feel is very real. what a horrible way to spend the rest of one's life! Adding how handsome the young man once was emphasizes the coldness of Palpatine. He just wants to create a machine for himself, and probably not heal him up the way light side medicine would.
Very real, very credible. I felt tears in my eyes.

That was pretty cool. I really enjoyed how you made it relevant to our medical culture, but it was totally Star Wars. It also seemed very true to the "official" story, and I like how plausible it was to what could have happened in between scenes.

That was a great story. It fit in so well with the movie, you must be phsycic. It was truly great how you made us feel sorry for him. It would have been a great thing to put in the movie because it would have twisted you around from completly hating him like you wound up doing at the end of the movie. I hope to read lots more of your stuff

Not fast-paced enough, in my opinion. Try adding in some more frantic-ness, and rapid-fire conversation.

Also a tad short. Try lengthening it a bit; add more details and fluff.
