I liked the comment about his life's work, especially, and the tie between the Skywalker men of three generations being going to the Force.

This was truly beautiful, K. It was so moving and poignant that father and son were able to share those final moments together. I'm so glad to see this vignette in the Archives.

Beatifully written piece. Nicely done with the Skywalker-tradition, though it might not be a fantastic one...

Poignantly written, not over done but just the right amount of emotion to make us feel Ben's pain. It was nice to see Luke's son as a living legacy to the Skywalker lineage.
Bravo!

I must have missed this on the boards . . .
Wonderful, heartbreaking, beautifully written. I loved the idea that the Skywalkers all seem to die in their children's arms - wonder if GL worked it that way on purpose? - and that Ben is at his father's side just as Luke was at Anakin's.
Also loved the line about his being named for the last of the Old Order and trained by the first of the New. Very poignant.
Great work!

Thanks to my wonderful betas, rhonderoo and Jedi Trace. Your hard work made this a much better piece and I thank you!
And my thanks to everyone who has read this. A note, Luke DID become one with the Force. He did not disappear, just as Qui-Gon did not disappear and Anakin Solo did not disappear.

that was a very moving story..thankyou...it's what i've been waiting for, for years. Even stars die out... Very well researched also,so you must have read the book in witch obi-wan tells anakin that all stars die out. I just hate people that dont research their stories well, and you did an exquisite job!

OMG. like my name says, i am bawling right now. it was so beautifully writen! you know, G.L forbid the NJO writers to kill off Luke (who woukd want to?!) but if he had to die, that would be the way to do it. Don't worry it's a compliment

I know that I might be a little late to this wonderful story, but I just wanted to congratulate the author on a wonderful job. Like most others who posted, this brought tears to my eyes. The death of Luke in this fic was just so moving, just how I believe he would go out if not in a fight; with grace and in the company of his loved ones.

There are no words that I can convey that would tell you how I felt when I read this story, only that it moved me to the very depth of my soul.
This is such a beautiful story. It is truly the Skywalker legacy for fathers to die in their son's arms. Please, don't ever stop writing. *wipes tear from eye*
