My first read through this has left me speechless. Its been a long time between good, spellbinding fan fictions for the archive.
Now, does it stand up to a more critical reading?
I hope so.

What a touching little AU! I'll admit, it was a bit hard to imagine Vader saying and doing some of the sweet things he did here, but I'm just such a sucker for happy endings where everybody lives that I'll excuse it, lol! Well worth the read, thanks for writing it!

Wow! I love the "like father, like son" theme - both slaves in their youth, both trying to save someone out of love, and both ultimately putting their faith in something greater. I especially liked Vader's new connection to the Force - not light or dark, just balanced.
I'm sure he'll have a very interesting conversation with Palpatine...

Wow, I loved this story. So beautifully woven, with surprises around every bend. Plenty of grief, but also, a hope of healing. Perfect title, and the story lives up to it 100%.

Wow...this is one of the best AUs I've ever read. I particularly enjoyed Vader's reactions to discovering he had a son and then his reactions to being a father. I kind of feel like you left us hanging, though. Sequel?

This was such a great read! So well written! Like some of the other readers, it was hard to imagine Anakin as Vader saying some of these things but that is the part about alternate universe writing that I enjoy so much. It does give you a whole new sense of the character. I think I was so frustrated by the fact that Vader did not have his Force skills at hand. It made it almost hard to read because of the loss of his skills. You wanted him to do more at the end once he regained the Force, but at the same time the transformation from sith to jedi thought was so wonderful to behold. I'd love to see more continued on this story, perhaps how Vader hides Luke from the Emperor and secretly trains him. How he finds out another child exists, aka Leia. And, of course, Luke could possibly heal him entirely of his afflicted bodily state and re-take his former visage before the lava. I'm rather new to the healing powers of the Force in the current readings on this site so it does make for interesting literature. :)

Wow. I really enjoyed this, and I thought it was an excellent read. I loved the way you used Luke, and showed Vader coming back to the light side of the force. 10/10!

As a die-hard Star Wars fan, and author, I thoroughly enjoyed this read. It was sad that Obi-wan died that way, but the rest of the story more than made up for it. I am looking forward to a possible sequal. Good luck!
