A beautiful story! It perfectly illustrates the Master-Padawan relationship between Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon, and the lesson was quite in keeping with Qui-Gon's character. A lovely addition to the Archive!

This was beautiful. I didn't really have a guess as to what the wall's purpose was, but I was pleasantly suprised. Fantastic work.

I really enjoyed this fan fiction piece! The entire story made me think of Obi-Wan's failure with Anakin. Yes, he was a great jedi but he somehow failed to be the Master, Anakin so needed him to be. In the films, we see how Anakin befriends Palpatine due to the obvious lack of trust and friendship received from his Master and the other Jedi. True, attachments are not good but trust was key and I think that is where Obi-Wan failed.
You also wrote both characters extremely well. I could picture both well.
Great story! Bravo!

I think I've read this story once or twice before although I didn't review at that time (bad me!) It always brings tears to my eyes upon reading. There are so many levels of meaning in it: simply learning patience and persistence; learning how building a wall is like building a relationship, and how what we lovingly create can be destroyed, but once again put right; and finally, as a foreshadow of the fate that Obi-Wan will have.
This definitely sounds like the kind of task that Qui-Gon might assign Obi-Wan to teach him something; you've captured the characters of both Master and Padawan perfectly, down to Qui-Gon snoring!
"A solitary island of stone in a sea of fragrant grass" - indeed, that is what Obi-Wan Kenobi will be: an island of stone on Tatooine, and we can only be glad that he is there, at (it seems), the end of all things.

Wow. Honestly, I was right there feeling whatever Obi-Wan felt with him--a slightly doubting trust in Qui-Gon, an anger at his quick destruction of the wall, a dawning understanding when the lesson was revealed.
Good job capturing one of the quieter Master-and-Padawan lessons that's not a part of any mission.
