I loved this just as much reading it again. A powerful and moving story, but that is no surprise considering the author!

This was a fairly mediocre story for several reasons: 1. Having Anakin Skywalker basically confront himself has been done to death. 2. There is no suspense about what has to happen for the story to work, both emotionally and writing wise. 3. Anakin Skywalker has had to have been any century's dumbest tragedy. He was a jerk, undiscipline hero who needed a good spanking with a two by four every day for a couple of years.

Gina, another nice piece. I really liked the moment when Anakin had sympathy for his opponent when he talked of losing the woman he loved. It just hightlights Anakin's tragedy even further.

I love this fic. It just shows how evil Palpatine is, orchestrating a war causing so much pain to so many planets, just to gain power. Anakin and the commander were just two of his victims. Brilliant, poignant fic.

While, stylistically, this story is perfectly fine, I felt as though I'd read it before. Phrases like, "This is a battle you cannot win" or "It doesn't have to be this way" are cliched, as is (I must agree with Dashel here) the idea of Anakin confront himself externally, to the point that I had predicted the entirety of the story before clicking the link.
Also, wow, that guy talked a long time before he died.

Good story, good writing... good job. Perhaps the other comments over look the fact that this is a short story, sucinct and well written. Perhaps, yes, ther were soem familiar ideas (2?), but that is more atribute to the Star Wars style/history than being unoriginal. Kudos.
