Another outstanding story. The portrayal of Obi-Wan was very good. Thank you, Quiller, for sharing your vision with us. These three stories make up one of the most amazing works of fan fiction I've seen.

This is quite simply the best piece of fan fiction I've ever read.
Surveying this masterpiece on the same level of The Phantom Menace is ridiculous... the quality behind this work far surpasses any Pre-OT media I've seen yet.
Quiller - you write with great fluidity and grace. You know how to properly slip in the tough words with precision and without sounding pretentious. These talents and your ability to tell a Star Wars tale involving the heart's and soul's of the characters (instead of spewing encyclopedia material and political, science-fiction nonsense) really set you apart from a lot of fanfic and about all EU writers.
This work actually felt "Star Warsish." And that's the first time I've ever experienced that. This trilogy really clicked with the original Star Wars movies.
You are really a master of words... I commend you, and keep it up! =)

Okay, I don't know what just happened, but this comment decided to post before I was done, so I'll just continue it now.
This story realy completed your trilogy, and that saying a lot. Many people who try to write a trilogy that's as excellent as this are unable to really end it. And you managed that. Not only that, you mananged to end with a whisper, not a bang. Great job, Quiller, and I hope to see more of your work soon.

Once again I loved every word of your story, but there is one thing left to be desired. I want to see the fight that claimed Anakin's humanity. I want to see how Obi Wan nearly killed his former aprentice, only to rescue him from the fires of the lava pool he forecd Anakin into, The final transition into Darth Vader. Please write that story. I beg you.

I don't know who you are or what kind of person you are but your genious and talent aren't the only elements that make this work/trilogy an EPIC. As an actor and SW fan I can appreciate what you've done here on many levels. Not only has a life-long memory been created but also a vision of true beauty. To do that requires more than someone giving their time and effort but it demands something few people have the courage or ability to do. It requires you to give a piece of your soul. Being blessed with the gift to do so and do it so pleasingly is a great honor. All else has already been said so I'll just add, thanks again.
P.S. If you don't continue to write it would be a crime.

This is one of the coolest fanfics I have read so far. It shows Obi-Wan (in my opinion anyway) very well. I think he would have been feeling very guilty over Anakin's betrayal. Very good job.

Cristy, since I couldn't reach you via email, I thought I'd reply here. You're absolutely right -- in light of AOTC, it is obvious that there is no love between Obi-Wan and Amidala. When I wrote the story, there was some speculation that perhaps there would be, and that that very thing might be one of the reasons Anakin turned. I liked that idea because it mirrored the triangle that existed between Han, Leia and Luke.
I always knew this trilogy would become AU someday. AOTC just made it happen faster.

Stunning, especially the very end when Obi-Wan lets it all go.
I'm not a fan of the whole prequel love triangle mess, but I thought it worked incredibly well here. It gave Anakin yet another reason to turn to the Dark Side and made Obi-Wan suffer even more.
I love to read your stories. Please write more.

Note to readers: READ THIS TRILOGY. It is amazing. Again, I repeat, I have never read a better FanFic.

This is such an amazing story. It has brought out so many emotions; it has dealt so comprehensively with so many little details, e.g. how Obi-Wan came to be called "Ben", his hidden feelings for Amidala, his friendship with Bail Organa.
The part where Bail points out that the Daksheen did not die for Obi-Wan, rather they died for freedom is fantastic. It has enclosed such truth and wisdom within.
Thank you for a beautiful tale.

I loved the way Obi-Wan faced his demons and came out whole. I especially liked the way you ended it with the scene from ANH. I read that you had another story on your home page following this one called "Shadow and Light", but couldn't find it-an error notice came up and said to tell the webmaster. Is there another one? Could you let me know if there is and you could post it here? Thanks, Debbie

That was the best piece of writing i've encountered ever (and not just from the SW genre). You deserve to have publishers banging down your door. The development of Obi-wan is amazing in the trilogy, but the depth in this final piece is so realistic that I almost cried at several points (a feat never before accomplished). The anguish is palpable and themes brought up with the characters of Calder and family are inspiring. I can't bring the right words to mind to encompass how this piece affected me, it was sheer brilliance. You have a gift...

I agree with some of the others, Obi-Wan and most of the characters in more than one paragraph were very well developed. Again, I love your work, it's truly amazing. This must be the third time I've read this trilogy now and it still proves to be fascinating. Come what may, come what may... Wonder where I've heard that before... ;-Þ Anyway, it's absolutely Force-inspired, lovely, I can't wait to see your next story. The writing is great, but it's the tiny bits that make it a work of art. MutantJediBauer aka. Zax-Ryn Kenobi

It is definitely on par with my favorite SW writer Timothy Zahn, the way you integrated the whole story, developing Obi-wan, it was all just fantastic. A real treat to read and hopefully you will have many more in the future.
