Despite the length of this fic, the first time I read it I found myself staying up way too late to finish it. I just couldn't walk away without knowing how it ended.
I suppose my comment for this story is "Wow!"

WOW!!! This is THE most awesome fic I have read to date! You capture Palpatine's evilness perfectly. I absolutely shuddered every time he spoke, and I don't shudder easily at the written word. And Luke's torment is wonderfully captured! Vader's journey is excellent. Everything is just perfect! I'll be recommending this one to everyone I know. :)

I have mixed feelings about this piece. I was riveted by the beginning, because it is so well written. You evoke a very realistic picture of what it must feel like to be delerious *and* hearing Vader in your mind (persish the thought!) I was intrigued by the rest of the story up until Han started psychoanalysing Vadey. There is a lot to be said for subtlety at times, and it didn't quite seem in character for Han, who *avoids* talking about feelings.
I thought the battle at the end was a bit cliched. I know lots of people think that this is the only way to write SW, but I get tired of seeing the same scenario played out by so many writers. It was well-written, but predictable; it didn't surprise me.
And I could have done without that mush at the end.
But don't let my personal preferences bring you down. You are a very good writer and the story overall is masterfully written.

I was so captivated just by the summary provided that I had to print it out right away (though the school librarian nearly killed me for printing out 131 pages ;) ). This fic is one of the best alternate stories I've read in a long time. I enjoyed the pictures; they added a wonderful touch to the story (my favorite is the pic of Luke and Anakin staring each other down). I really liked the part where Han has a little talk with Vader. Although it is slightly un-Han, given the circumstances, it's quite understandable, and even funny. Keep up the great work, Mina!

Well, I'll say this much: I was in the middle of reading Rogue Planet when I discovered this story. Needless to say, I've since put Rogue Planet down and read this in its place.
I won't say its perfect, but there are a lot of really great scenes. I like the added sadism of the Emperor, and for the first time EVER, I actually found myself liking Princess Leia.
My primary complaint is in regards to Vader. I didn't care for the nature of his redemption. It was very hard for me to read his dialogue and picture Vader saying it.
Other than that...a very fine piece indeed.

This is the best fanfic story I've read so far. Reading the first part I was shivering, it was such an original idea to create this situation, Leia thinking about Luke as a Sith spwan... God it was perfect. I also loved the sensitive character of Luke, his turn was perfectly elaborated, the way Palpatine touched him, it was almost erotic I was stunned again. His desperate try to escape and then when he said he will not leave Palpatine let me with an open mouth again. The small black figure in the snow. But, this is the story which is so good that it should deserve more than a typical fairytale ending. Other SW stories (many officials as well) don't take Yoda's words seriously. The one who started his way on the dark side will never be able to leave it completely. I think Yoda was not joking when he told Luke this. And Lucas took it seriously as well, Vader had to die to gain redemption. Why can't Luke stay on the Dark Side? It would enchase the seriousness of the story. Jedi sould not accept the power of the dark side kill dozens of people and then get rid of it without serious sacrifice. You are a great writer, don't take this as a serious criticism of the story, I am only longing for a well written story where Luke doesn't turn back to the light side only maybe in the far future and your story promised me one until the end. Falling into a pit is always faster and easier than climbing out...
(sorry for the language mistakes, my native is not english)
PS: If somebody knows about a well written story which doesn't end in a Hollywood way please tell me about it. Thank you very much.

I know this may sound cliche: I stayed up late on a school night to finish this piece of fanfiction as I often do with great stories [you're supposed to take that as a compliment;)]The story plot was great and kept my interest, and me wheeling with each new twist and turn. My favorite part was when Han was rescued from Jabba's palace (poor Leia, having to act like an exotic dancer for Han's sake. I guess she really loves him.) I saw that scene of Leia not cooperating with Jabba and falling into the rancor pit as a cliche to Oola's fate in Return of the Jedi. But one of my favorite scenes was when Anakin rescued her from the rancor pit and realized he'd just saved his daughter's life. I absolutly loved the closing scene about Luke and Anakin racing, their instatement into the Republic fleet, Luke's reunion with his old friends and fling helmet. Mara Jade was a perfect fit in being Palpatine's aid, and then reconsiling. Even if cliche, the end scene of Anakin seeing the ghosts was touching and heartwarming(he turned good and got the approval of all the Jedi teachers who had taught him and saw him through his training, almost a reconsile.) Please take the following as constructive criticsm. I saw some spelling errors, sentence structure errors, and incorrect pronouns (i.e. he instead of his). You know there is no such thing as too much proofreading, right? A bit of advice for all the fanfic writer's out there, don't do all the proof reading yourself, have several other people beta-read and proof read it, because it's easy to miss errors when you read it over and over again(it eventually becomes your mind knows the plot so you read over some of the details). And there's kind of a plot hole as to explaining Anakin's emotions better in his decision before he went to Tatooine to save Luke. I know Mon Mothma wanted the Empire to cease, but I can't see her character becoming so extremely vengful and hateful, even if under the influence of Palpatine; the character of her I interpeted from Return of the Jedi was that she was a quiet woman who wanted to see the end of the Empire throught the means necessary, but nothing extreme, and wanted peace; she didn't seem the vengeful type at all in the movies.

I liked this story very much on the whole, but I did have some problems with the treatment of certain characters. Palpatine I found unconvincing at times, and the sexual subtext with which you imbued his overtures to Luke did not, for me, ring entirely true (was this originally a lemon?). Vader was written very well throughout, but I felt that the situation for him should have been more complicated, at the end of the story, than was made to be. I disliked the wave-of-a-magic-wand style healing of Vader, which felt almost like an afterthought. Star Wars has always been inflexible and absolute in its judgements of good and evil, and while you rose above this admirably during the course of the narrative, I thought you fell prey to it somewhat with the happily-ever-after ending.
Having said all that, when it is judged as fan fiction this is a truly excellent piece of writing.

Very enjoyable story. I really like the idea of this alternate universe and thought it was fun to read and imagine the possibilities.
One major problem I found was that there were too many emotions and thoughts included in the story. I don’t know if that makes sense, but all the thoughts and emotions really slowed it down. And, if it weren’t for the great idea included in the story, I would not have finished it. Getting rid of lots of the thoughts that go through the characters’ heads would help. It would make for an easier and quicker read. Also, by actually separating out the speech/talking parts, would make it easier to read.

Great follow-through and wrap-up of events in the last chapter and epilogue! So many stories have so little denoument, and your's extends it and fills it out nicely. Some parts were a little over done (the healing of Anakin), but the continutation of the story beyond that, bringing more parts together made it work well. Well Done!

This is how ROTJ should have been.
I enjoyed Vader/Anakin's evolution as it gives a more vivid demonstration of how he never turned completely to the dark side.
The only thing I did't enjoy that much (but that is only my opinion) was the "happily ever after" end. I think that as in the original story, Anakin should have died when killing Palpatine. But then again, it's only my point of view.
Amazing writing. Keep up with it.

I didn't like at all the sexual innuendos in the relationship of Palpatine towards Luke.
Also, I did not like the way Luke was portrayed, it's almost as if you don't like him. Luke is one of the strongest characters in the SW universe, he would never show such weakness -- even if he felt it, he would never succumb to it, no matter how much Palpatine tortured him...
Also, Lando is there just ... I don't know why you put him in there if he does nothing.
The situation with Mara is never fully explained either. It appeared to me that Mara intentionally dropped the note about Luke's location to Vader, to lure them into a trap, but then why did the Emperor send her away? Or, if she really wanted to help them, why was that? You never show us her motivations, or her feelings...

Great AU fanfic! I liked this particular plot twist, as it went along with my idea of the Alliance's/soon-to-be New Republic's corruption being as bad as the Empire's in its own way, rather than being too AU like some fanfics I've read. Though, you really _did_ make Mothma into more of an evil bitch than even I'd have expected, but that's not a bad thing. Very good description of her character, of Vader/Anakin's, of Leia's, Luke's...Mara's part in there was rather strange, however. Bit of an abrupt loyalty switch, it seems to me: that's an extreme contrast from her character in the novels, where her loyalty to the Emperor is fanatical to the point of devoting her life to Luke's death.
Ah well. Other than my disagreement with the depiction of Mara (which matters little, as her part in there is cameo at most), that was great writing about a great concept and definitely deserving of my 10/10 rating. I'll be watching for your name, Mina (fellow DragonLance fan?), in the hopes of more fanfics to come.

Great story!! It was nice to read a decently written happy ending for Anakin Skywalker. I think Hollywood has had enough "let's kill the guy you care about" lately so this was great. Very descriptive and totally sucked me in to the story.
The only criticism is Vader's dialog wasn't quite right in a few places - it lacked the arrogance needed for a Sith lord early on. But to get get Vader's voice right and transition to Anakin is a MONUMENTAL task and you did a very good job with it considering.
By the way, the picture of Han pointing his finger at Vader in the cockpit of the Falcon is PRICELESS!! Can I steal it?

I'm new to the SW fan fiction, but ever since I got here I've been searching for fics that have to do with Vader turning to Anakin early and having a happy ending. Some I've read have been far-fetched and not too reliable, but this story just took the breath out of me! Wonderfully written, and the transition from Vader-Anakin seems so natural!
I even enjoyed Han's and Leia's roles in the whole thing. It offered a new view on our beloved smuggler and princess. In other stories they've been so negative and distrustful of the back-turned Vader, so it was refreshing to read a story where they managed to settle their differences and agree Vader had changed!
Great job with all this!
