Over all I enjoyed the story but at time it was hard to understand. I really liked the descriptions of the inside of the temple and the rites of passage of the Sith.

wait, what just happened?!?!?! I'm a HUGE star wars fan and a HUGE fan fic freak, but for some reason, i do not understand this story. why is Maul taking his master to be buried? why is Maul still breathing, let alone walking? who was the other man with Maul? I want to say Vader, but that wouldn't make much sense either. Did I rush through reading this (i am at work after all) or am I just not getting it? putting all that aside, i found it to be a very interesting read.

Thanks for the comments! Yup, the other *is* Vader, don't you get the hint when I say one of the secondary characters is Darth Vader? Because this is AU. You know, AU? Maul lives there. As to why and how, there are a few hints and I won't say no more. Don't tell me you seriously wanted Maul to die in the movie? :) It was a waste of a good character anyway. Maul should have lived. So I corrected that mistake. :) Ha! Best, Red.

One of the best Sith tales I've heard. Seriously. May Chaos envelop you, Lord Cthulhu smile upon you, and Death be merely your Beginning. Until Death dies, Lord Dracul (P.S. Contact Me)

This is one of the best fics I've read so far here, and I've read almost all of them!
I love the ambiguity which you brought to the story - and does it really matter whether this is AU or something else altogether, if the story itself is so powerful?

Great story. I have one really big question though- HOW DID PALPATINE DIE? Once I found out that he was dead in this story, I really wanted to find out how Maul killed him.

There is no peace, there is anger. There is no fear, there is power. There is no death, there is immortality. There is no weakness, there is the Dark Side. I am the Heart of Darkness. I know no fear, but rather I instill it in my enemies. I am the destroyer of worlds. I know the power of the Dark Side. I am the fire of hate. All the Universe bows before me. I pledge myself to the Darkness, for I have found true life,in the death of the light.
"I miss you father..."
God, this story made me cry

A great story, but one thing struck me as odd - I always thought there was a slight difference between "Sith" and "Dark Jedi" (I'm sure I'm right) in that the Dark Jedi are a group which study both the light and dark side but use their knowledge/power only for dark agendas (and unlike the Sith can use sabres other than the tradition red) whilst the Sith are well... The Sith, students of the darkside who live by the code you mentioned at the start but traditionally only use red sabres (though there is an exception to every rule).
I'm sure I am right but either way you did well and I enjoyed it.

Hmm...I like the story, it was nicely writen but I'm not so sure that Vader meeting Maul is a good idea...things don't ad up; also Maul's atitude towards Vader..that really doesn't speak to his character. The story confused me because the characters were hard to identity give that that is not their normal behaviour.
