Hey! I read this and went wow! It's great... It's great that even though 'Anakin' wasn't real, his comfort of "I’m right here. I’ll always be with you" staying with Jaina is nice...
A good fic all round.

This is the second in my fables series, the idea behind which was to take myths and legends from around the world and put them into a Star Wars setting. This one's based on the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice.
Thanks to all my terrific betas (what, you don't think I just use two, do you? My normal number is anywhere from four to six!) and to FernWithy, who provided the lovely cover art.

I got the impression that it was the dark side telling her that is will always be there. Not Anakin but the dark side saying it will never truely leave her alone.

This story is reminiscent of a myth from Greek mythology. A man lost his wife and went to Hades to get her back. The god of the underworld agreed that he could take her if he would not look back at her until they were both out of the underworld. He looked back, and she was loast. Sadly the exact name elude me, but I definitely remember the story.
I enjoyed reading "Don't Look Back".

Wow! I love Greek mythology. I go to a Classical high shool, that's where you learn ancient Greek and Latin, and I love Greek mythology. Can't wait to see more of it adapted to Star Wars!

Jaina's feelings about her brother's death in this story are very vivid. My question is how Jacen's dissappearance should tie in with it. Does she know that Jacen is alive at this point? overall I think this is an excellent fanfic.

Wow, what a fascinating story! Your writing style is beautiful, with lovely descriptive words and imagery. A joy to read.
The premise was great, too. I've loved the story of Orpheus and Euridice ever since I first heard Monteverdi's opera "Orfeo." I could just hear the spooky music as I read this story. It realy captured the spirit both of the myth and of Star Wars, and showed how much Star Wars realy does depend on myth for its inspiration.
Excellent job.

There was a story in the bible, kinda like this one. God told this guy , his wife and his sister to leave a city and not look back. unfortunately his sister looked back and was struck with fire and brimstone. you win some you lose some :)

I feel that this is the best capturing of Jaina's spirit after her brother's death. Just the feel of him being near and being taken away again by her own doing hurts her even more. I liked the feel and emotion of the whole story, it capture's a lot of the characters feelings and makes you think about losing a loved one of your own and the effects it has. Good Job!

A role-reversal of the Oedipus-Eurydice myth, and a brief one. Jaina is her father's daughter - viz the wit, the courage, the love. And sometimes letting go is half the battle over fear and loss. :)

Just think, people still fall for the same mistakes. Using the Orpheus and Euridice Greek myth, was a great way to explore Jaina's humane quality. Everyone makes mistakes. Even if they have been told throughout history. I really did like the way it was written and expressed. Great work.

Excellent adaptation of Orpheus and Eurydice - it's poetic and found a good, matching background. I liked the setting - namely, the tree cave on Dagobah - because it's a place that really humbles people and reminds them that they still have a lot to learn.

i have to agree with whoever likened the premise to that of lot and his wife when they fled sodom and gomorrah. but what i enjoyed even more was the ambiguity of meaning in that message. was it the lingering dark side spirit reminding the troubled young jaina that it would always be with her, or actually an apparation of anakin? excellent fiction!

as soon as anakin said dont look back i knew what it was based on.
i know the dark side would be crual enough to do such a thing but it is not worthy of takeing on the likeness of that young man
