I'm really glad someone had written a story chronicling Shmi's life. It truly is a remarkable tale of such an important character in the SW universe.

This is an amazing story, beautifully concieved and written. Although it needs another beta-read, there are no distracting typos. The character of Shmi is beautifully developed, and I love how she knew Cliegg for so long. Just beautiful.

Thanks to everyone for all their kind comments. I've tried to e-mail everyone, although I couldn't reach Boba Fett, so I'll think you here.
I really wanted to thank my beta readers Valeda Kor and Calais Kenobi who gave me such great suggestions, and so patiently went over this.
I also wanted to thank FernWithy for hatching the plot bunny for this story.

Ooops. I meant I wanted to thank Boba Fett! As for why this is AU, I'm not sure, myself. I think I hit the wrong button when I submitted the story. :)

I put a comment in here earlier but it didnt show up on the website, so i am goign to try again: I really liked this story because it went to fill up the gaps of Shmi's life, and it was easy to read, unlike "The Sands of Time" which is way to long and i t should of been cut up into couple different sequals (like LOTR)and plus it is to hard to read.

Empire_Rules_All: Thank you--I'm glad you enjoyed the story. But, don't knock "The Sands of Time". I thought that was a wonderful fic--the first Star Wars fan fic I ever read. You could say that story started me down this long road...

A very nice story indeed. It made me feel sad for Anakin, and I'll tell you why. The story fills in what in my opinion are the missing pieces in Shmi's life that the novelization of AOTC left out and why she felt complete. It makes the reader ponder if Anakin had known the complete truth about his mother's past, known about her continued existence, and why she held on for him to return, that he may not have turned on the Tuskens, but simply walked away with her body and returned to the Lars' homestead to mourn.
A very nicely-written, thought-provoking piece of work.

Very well written. It really clears up alot of the Skywalker's past. Nice touch turning Owen's tale about Anikin into Shimi's father.

This was a very cool story, and I enjoyed it. It reminded me a lot of the book Tatooine Ghost, which is among my favoite. I would like to say though, that it was very cruel to say Shmi was going to have a baby. But a good twist. Keep writing!

I reaaly enjoyed this and it gave insight on what Shmi was thinking during her horrific captivity and treatment by the Sand People. Although her death set the beginning of Anakin's fall to the dark side her love for him never left him.
