Good job, Fern. I read this a long time ago on vader's Mask, and I liked it a lot. I never thought that vader was a rapist. (I doubt he could rape anyone in his condition, but he doesn't strike me as the type.) He never really disrepected women that I've seen. He even admired Leia's strength in ANH.

The perfect length for a little lunch break reading. Always a pleasure to read one of your stories, Fernwithy. The mythology you've created around Vader and Leia, through this and other stories, is so convincing that it's hard not to think of it as canon.

Excellent. It fits in nicely with ESB. It explains why she changed her outfit and it explains why he never asked Han any questions. But it definatly explains why Leia gave him the look she gave him in the carbon chamber, before Han went in.

I've also said it before, but good job, Fern! I loved the dialogue between Leia and Vader. Even if I didn't already know, it would be obvious that they are related - Leia's stubbornness mirrors that of Anakin Skywalker. Keep up the good work!

A wonderful, poignant story that adds yet another piece to the puzzle of Vader. I, too think of your picture of his relationship with Leia as canon; for me it couldn't be any other way!

I thought it was a great story, except for the part where it's suggested that Vader might rape Leia. I believe stories may need some grit that the original trilogy may lack, but even the idea of rape or Vader raping anyone has no place in the Star Wars universe. Other than that, it was really good.

I enjoyed the style and the writing, but I'm not so sure of a few things
1. I don't like thinking of the Empire as rapists...it takes some of the innocence out of what is basically the good v. evil morality play that is Star Wars. Evil can be evil without being vile, if you can get that...
Also, while a popular subject in your FF...I would prefer that Leia had NO understanding of who her mother was, nor do I like to think of Vader knowing ANYTHING about Leia as anything more than someone who reminds him of his wife...but your ability to tell the story makes this a wonderful read.

I did think about that issue, but part of the point with the Vader reference was that it absolutely was *not* part of what he did, nor did he permit anyone under his command to do so. Leia was being vulgar and he was right--she dishonored herself.

LLL, I think that what darth_hospodar was saying was that he/she would rather Leia remember nothing about her mother but the most shadowy of details. Leia remembers her mother, the way she looked and how she felt, but maybe she wouldn't remember what her name was, or even recognize the name Padmé Naberrie. I think that was what hospodar was trying to say. (I kind of agree with that myself, but I still think this story is awesome!)

I'm not understanding why the idea of rape is such an issue. On ROTJ, we saw a major pervert in Jabba the Hutt. I don't believe the Empire to have been above rape, but I do believe it to have been beneath Vader. His sense of honor would never have permitted it, which, of course, is what Fern's story shows.

I loved this story. Especially the fight with Vader and Leia. Ironically, it seems like a typical father/daughter fight, however with none of the main characters knowing it at the time. (i hope u know what i mean). Otherwise i love the way that Vader respects her strength and the way Leia will keep a secret, no matter what. It is a great story, and is true to the films.
