I love that line. ;) Probably because it reminds me of that scene in Ep. II, and its odd – but interesting – to see Obi-Wan in that same position. Though of course he’s in Padme’s position, which is amusing to say the least.

This is a lovely story, LP. I like it even more the second time around. I love your imagery, and the way you present Obi-Wan’s emotions. It’s interesting to see him in the beginning of this story, and then the end, to see how Kirjala – and love – changed him so deeply. I just love it because the premise is so . . . positive. I’m reaching for words and not finding them, but I hope you know what I mean. ;)

I thought Kirjala to be a very interesting character – forget being a Mary Sue, she even thought about going to Palpatine! And it wasn’t her who changed Obi-Wan as much as her presence, if that makes sense. Her weakness – both physical and otherwise – was an interesting contrast to Obi-Wan and his character (no need to go into depth there – we all know him ;) ).

‘Course, the thing I like most about this – and I believe I told you this in my beta ;) – is that it shows the change of what Obi-Wan must have been in Ep. III: lost, perhaps bitter, sad, and remorseful for his arrogance, to the kind, gentle and wise man in ANH. The idea that love can change someone that much – if they allow it – is powerful.

Anyway – this is half a page long in Word now, so I think I’ve babbled long enough. ;)

That's really nice. It's good to think that Obi-wan might not have been completely alone and miserable all those years on Tatooine, with all the bad stuff going on in the galaxy - the destruction of the jedi order etc.

First, I think this was a very good story, but I don't think Obi-Wan would be haunted by his final confrontation with Anakin for over ten years, nor do I see him as a brooding type. You did make it seem he could have acted that way however. I liked the scenes with Luke, it seemed to strengthen Obi-Wan, a beutiful story, showing Obi-Wan was not some stoic Jedi. Can we expect a prequel? Is there already one out there? I am intersted.

Truly enjoyable. I believed that Obi-Wan could display emotions and grateful for this story to bring it out of him.

It brings a different light on a otherwise dedicated Jedi who still "has much to learn about the living force." This story may have taught him the final lesson.

I like the story but I just don't find it to be very believeable. It's not what I would do personally had I wrote a similar story but it was a great portryal of Obi Wan. Keep up the good work.

Great story. A true pleasure to read.

Two quick thoughts (and I'm playing Sith Lord's advocate with the first one here, please don't take offense): 1.) It seems a bit of a stretch for Obi-Wan to have access to a small fortune; he would have been able to pay Han straight out for that trip to Alderaan in Episode IV. 2.) You've got him in a cave, the movies show him in a hut/compound; if he and his lady love had more time together, might he not have set that hut up as a home and the two of them moved out of his cave? It'd explain where that fortune went, give him motivation to switch locations, and flow seemlessly with the films.

Again, these are just a couple thoughts. I loved the story itself. Well done.

I do not read a lot of fan fiction. Sometimes I find it juvenille & not very well written & plotted like a "choose your own adventure". NOT THIS. It was very wellw ritten, concise & captured characters very well. Also I found that the extrapolation of events that we know are going to happen were not far fetched but realistic & blended seemlessly with the Star wars story.
Enough of that I just wanted to compliment Lady Padme.
What I like most about this is that it almost entirely had no action but bags of character development. Whcih goes to show something that I think Lucas Books has missed the boat on. We care more about the caharcters than the events surrounding them.
I could read a story with Luke & Leia sitting around & wondering about what their parents were like MORE than a whole book of lightsaber battles written to sound like ballet.
Anyway, if more fan fiction wa slike this prehaps Lucas might concede to print some of it?

Wow. Just wow. A really great story! I never usually finish up fics, but I gladly read all of this, and it was even better the second time 'round. I love Obi-Wan stories, and this one was just bursting with character developing goodness. I liked the new character. Usually you get Mary-Sue's in these situations but she was just fabulous. Cool how Ben faces the same emotional situations as Anakin once faced. Shows a side of Obi-Wan never really explored before...and done quite well Lady Padme! This Fic was great… I found the fight between Anakin and Obi-wan excellent… the love story was sad but I love it because you give to Obi-wan the opportunity of become in a real man in every aspect, he could feel peace amid his conflict... and the character of Kirjala had grandiose moments... I was very impressed by this story, LadyPadme. :p I loved the characterization of Obi-Wan, especially because he always seems to be so stuffy and self-righteous. Don't get me wrong - I love Obi-Wan, but he, as we all know, had much to learn about "be[ing] mindful of the Living Force". I loved how he finally got to put himself first for once.

I also liked how you portrayed Obi-Wan as being able to see auras. I particularly enjoyed how you portrayed the duel between Obi-Wan and Anakin - er, Vader - that forever ends any hope of them being reconciled. We all know that Vader's actions were evil, but we also know that he always had a thread of light - his love of Padme - running through his dark soul, just as Anakin always had a thread of darkness - bitterness over his lot in life - running through his then-light soul.

After all, the Force isn't just light - it's light and darkness balancing each other in a never-ending circle. (See Ouroboros. :p) In order for Anakin to fulfill his destiny and bring balance to the Force, he had to have both light and darkness within his soul. He wouldn't have been able to get close to Palpatine without that shred of darkness, and he wouldn't have been able to dispose of him without that shred of light.

What I am TRYING to say is that you did a phenomenal job - keep up the good work! :p

I absolutely loved the way LP was able to bring a sense of emotional bliss to an out-of-touch Obi Wan. The repetition of the rain brought an emotional aspect to Obi's personal feelings. He found peace when he was able to love, and that made him able to connect with other feelings. "And then he wept – he wept for all the times in his life he wanted to cry but couldn't. A truly beautiful piece.
