Oh, wow! Obaona, for your first Ani/Ami fic, this is absoulutely amazing! If you hadn't stated otherwise, I'd have thought you'd been doing Ani/Ami stories for a long time. Excellent! I actually cried when I read it, which is quite rare for me. Keep writing, we want more!

That, just like the rest of your works, was very good. In everyone of your stories you are able to portray real sadness, real emotion. I think you should do more Ani, Ami stories like this one. The Ani,Ami, story is one of the saddest.

Me, the biggest sap of all time.... loved this story. Visuals were amazing. And having Ani's point of view is something I haven't seen so far. Normally, it's Padme who feels the pain, which is caused by anakin. I like how you mentioned Palpatine being the source of their problems. Very good! Write more!

Beautiful piece of work. I can easily see this scene in Episode III. In fact, this is the most plausible A/A breakup scenario I have read.

Your characterization of Ani is wonderful - completely sure of his path, while at the same time being quite the unknowing slave to Palpatine, and desperate for Padme's love all the while. His choice is clear - he has been rejected, he will not go back. Such is the way of the Dark Side, and he finally is prepared to give in fully.

The imagery is very vivid; the rain washing everything away, and especially Padme's gripping her stomach at the end - the hint of what she didn't say to him in his state of mind...

Again, wonderful job. Keep it up!

I'm so happy to see Rain archived. I loved your piece when I first read it on the boards - and I still love it now. The emotions you weave into your vignette are very powerful and heart-wrenching; I felt overcome with a great sadness as I read each scene. Great usage of rain, too. I liked the introduction very much.

This isn't the first time I've been 'wowed' by your work, Obaona. I hated to read about the breakup of my favorite couple, but you portrayed it so beautifully, I couldn't be bitter. You truly have a gift - the ability to wring emotions from your audience. I truly wanted to cry - and stories NEVER make me cry. We all wish that Ani would understand that he is being manipulated and return to his one true love, but we all also know that it's the only way to bring balance back to the force. After all, Palpatine will end up unknowingly keeping the instrument of his death by his side for 20 years. Maybe Ani and Padme get to be together in death - I hope, I hope, I hope! :p

You did an excellent job! Amazing! And I love the bits about the rain. Very powerful imagery there. And writing from Ani's point of view was very...shocking. Really made my heart ache. :( I'm a sap; I'm sorry. lol

This is the best fan fiction story i have read so far. Beautifully written it details every aspect of Anakin's love for Padme and his blindness for his new master Palpatine.
This story is very crucial to episode 3. I just hope GL knows there is a great writer out there, that can bring sadness and inspiration to all of us.

Stellar work.
Finally, a piece that actually makes Anakin act the way Anakin WOULD act, think, and feel.
(and, from a literary point of view, the baseline of rain - its characterization and symbolism - was wrenchingly beautiful.)

Oh this was totally magnificent! The conversation was so totally what is to be expected: his denial of anything being wrong with the "missions" and her refusal to live with someone who would shed innocent blood. Their mutual grief and his desolation and total anger and misguided ideas about Palpatine totally fit what comes next. His love is totally incinerated by the rage leaving nothing but ashes. I hope they have a confrontation as moving in EpIII.
