LOL! Leave it to you to see it up before me, LP. :p

Thank you to all my readers on the JC fanfic boards who stuck with me despite these vignettes being rather different from my usual stories, and special thanks to LadyPadme, obaona, and Jedi-2B who kindly beta read for me. And of course thank you to oba for the beautiful cover art once again. :)

WOW! Great story. Loved that ending, I'm a sucker for angstyness. (is that a word?) Anyway, I really enjoyed this story very, very much. Congrats.

First of all, this is a COMPLIMENT to the highest degree. Your story seemed SO real, I cab honestly say that that is EXACTLY why I would have hated to see Luke marry someone else rather than Mara. Seriously, your story was so well written, that I began to hate Luke for not realizing how Mara felt about her. You're a really great author when it comes to writing about Mara Jade, and I look forward to more stories. :D

I love happy endings, no matter how they come! IF Luke and Callista had married, this is exactly how I'd have wanted everything else to turn out- and I'm so so glad that Mara's finally found her own happiness...Force knows she deserves it by now. Great story!

It's up! A great story by a great author. And it has a happy ending, even if it's not the ending I usually root for, or that the author herself usually roots for. That's the mark of truly wonderful writing.

I remember reading this on the boards. I don't think I commented. *looks guilty* Anyway, wonderful! I loved seeing you show how there can be different realities - and *make* them seem real. Happy endings all round.

It was a well written story. It would have been much better if Luke had ended up with Mara. I don't get how you put Talon and Mara together but overall it was a well written story.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Soz, but I just can't see Luke and Mara married, when not to each other. And I'm the unniverse's biggest Callista hater. Ignoring the plot, yeah it's well written but NOOOOOOOOOO!

P.S. Luke and Mara 4 ever and ever...

Great story! How it really should have been.

Luke would have been better off with a girl more like him. Mara was perfect for Talon, or Lando. Maybe I would still like the EU if it turned out like your wonderful fic.

I must say I was very impressed with your work. You did a wonderful job on this. And this fan fiction is exactly why I was so happy when I read in a book that they were going to get married 'cause despite was Mara would say it was obviouse that she loved him and he loved her in return. You are a magnificent author and I love how you write. You have a wonderful veiw of Mara too, your so realistic. Great Job!!

Gabri, I love your writing and I love this story even if it was terribly painful for a diehard L/M shipper to read! LOL!

I'm glad that Luke and Mara both found happiness in their own lives, even if Mara took the long way round, as she said.

Still, I am REALLY, REALLY glad this is not how it actually happened!

This is a great story! I loved it, even though I think that under no circumstances should Luke have married Callista! However, this does a wonderful job of showing how things could have been.

As a dieharder L/M fan, I must say that I actually found myself reading this whole thing. Go figure. Probably because you wrote it so well. I could just feel what Mara felt in the beginning (well, after the denial that it wasn't her marrying Luke went away), and the rest of the fic too. You write extremely well. Very good job.

Aiee!

At first I was crying for poor Mara, then I was ATTEMPTING to smile for Luke. Then I could smile a little for Mara and Talon. It was odd thinking of Ben Skywalker as Callista's son and not Mara's.

Very well written story. It kept my interest and seemed to connect well with Mara's personality and definitely Luke's.

Personally, I think Mara wouldn't fit well with Talon but I liked the way you wrote their relationship. Lovely fic...I'm glad Mara ended up happy.

May the Force be with you,
Quia

Ok first off i'd like to say i liked it. but i still think Luke & Mara are better together Talcon is good and all but Luke is her soul mate they are supposed to be together i knew that since last command. i liked it just the same though.

Great story! Very well written, but I'm still left with a wistful feeling; if only they could have ended up together. No matter how much I try to make myself believe it, I can't picture Luke and Callista married.. At least everyone is happy :)

Okay, that was okay. I didn't really like because Luke and Mara are supossed to be married to each other. I felt sorry for Mara and was mad a Luke for not choosing her. So it was alright.

Well written, if heartbreaking. I can't imagine Luke married to anyone except Mara (or me, LOL) and certainly not Callista, and most definitly not in front of Mara's eyes. Help me Obi-Wan!

With so much Callista v.s. Mara animosity out there, it's refreshing change of pace to see something that attempts to straddle the lines. I admit I'm a little more preferable to Mara/Luke (since, y'know, it worked out), but it's a darn shame so many overlook the powerful influences all the women in his life have had on him. I'm glad to see an author try to fill the space in between.

Very sweet fic. Tragic, perhaps, but inevitably hopeful in the sense of its utter honesty about the affect of time and love - an honesty fits the blunt character of Mara very well. A very well-rounded first person narrative, to say the least, and impressive considering how complex Mara is and 1st person POV generally is. Very nice work. Thank you for sharing. ^_^

I'm with Chaotic Serenity--I can't even begin to say how nice it is to see a fic involving the Callista-Luke-Mara triangle and there not be any animosity towards either of them. Plus I'm a Callista fan who never has understood the soulmate thing that Luke and Mara are supposed to have, so it's doubly nice to see a fic that treats Callista well.

Your story was very well-written and very realistic, and I wish that things had turned out this way in the EU. Like Tiershon Fett, maybe I'd like it better.

Aww lovely! at first I thought I was instore for another, "poor Callista is pitying herself cause Mara got Luke" kinda story, but then when it turned out he was marrying Callie, my heart soared! I don't hate Mara, never have, and I can be happy for the two of them in the actual timeline, but given the choice I would definitely have paired him with Callista- the soulmate connection just works soo much better that way.

Congrats on a well written story!

Wow.
I almost wasn't sure i'd like it at first--for how can Mara be serene without Luke by her side--but the way you described her thoughts, and the happy family that they all became--I found myself suprisingly accepting of her and Talon--

Nicely written.

As someone who never bought the Luke/Mara relationship/"soul mate" crap, I was interested in the premise of this AU fic. (I never participated in the Mara vs. Callista wars of the past, but I will admit that Callista would have been a more logical partner for Luke than a woman who wanted to kill him).

Overall, this was an interesting look into the possibility of Mara not getting the golden boy. I found it refreshing to see that it wasn't a typical "love lost" fic between the two characters. She loved him, he didn't love her. That's a nice twist. I'm not entirely convinced that Mara would have felt quite as rejected as she is portrayed in this fic, though. Perhaps she might have loved him, and perhaps it might have stung for awhile. But a woman who is independent-minded and who has is determined to carve out her own fate in life would most likely not wind up in a loveless marriage with another man. But given tha romance/angst angle, it does balance out in the end.
