Wow! I've never had a first post before. I think I read this story over at ff.net and I remembered it pretty well, that's why I was so pleased to see it in the archives. It's deep and tragic, but straight to the point and dedicated to Obi-wan's mourning of Anakin.

Well done.

Very well written. I loved how you so deeply discribed how terribly hard it was for Obi-Wan to loose Anakin. Great Job!

You've done a fabulous job of writing down the pain of losing everything important in his life. Great scene with Padme.

Great job! This is easily one of the best fanfics I've read that was set immediately after Episode III and before A New Hope!

I really liked this. I loved what Obi-Wan said that having a Padawan turn to the Dark Side was like watching him bing himself to the funeral pyre and set himself ablaze.... I don't think it likely that Anakin would like Cliegg Lars for any reason though... That makes him sound crazy. Other than that, this was a very good read.

Author here. :)

First off, a huge thank you to my betas, and to rhonderoo for the incredible cover art.

I'm so happy that so many people have taken the time to read my story. To all of you who not only read but took the time to comment, thank you so much. It means a lot to me. Every word of praise I receive makes me glow, and getting some constructive criticism is always great too. I hope you all enjoyed the piece.

Thanks again for reading!

I really liked that. It almost made me cry when you where explianing how horrible Kenobi felt at the thought of Ankin being lost to the Dark Side. Stories that make you cry are the best. I really enjoyed all the detial you put into it, like how you explianed what losing a Padawan felt like and how losing him/her to the Dark Side felt. Keep up the good work.

You know, Erela, I truly do love this fic. I loved it on the boards, and I love it here. I see you've made some revisions, and I tell you its an even better story because of it. I commend you on your characterization of Obi-Wan. It was so refreshing to see Owen actually be CIVIL to Obi-Wan and willingly take Luke, because most of the time it's the exact opposite. Hurrah to you!

The reason for Obi-Wan's name change was brilliant, and totally unqiue. :D Would it be too much to ask if you actually wrote a story with Obi-Wan and Ben, where Anakin didn't fall? Because I would really, really love to read it. I'm sorry, but this OC that was barely mentioned just took hold of me and is not letting me go at all. Please?

I think I said it on the boards, but its truly bitter to see Obi-Wan considering life after Anakin is knighted. It shows so much how blind Obi-Wan was, and that the thought of Anakin falling never crossed his mind.

Brava. :)

Very nice story -- love the sun metaphor. I don't think Vader would've killed Cliegg, though -- he was old enough to have died of natural causes, methinx.

This was an awsome story!!! It does an incredible job of delving into Obi-wan's mind. I really enjoyed it! It reminds me of a part in Tatooine Ghost, where Leia senses an echo of Obi-wan's pain about Anikin in the Force. If you haven't read it I recomend it highly! Your story would be a perfect addition. Thank you for the wonderful story!

Good writing style. It stands out in a large group of fics loosly based on the same thing.

All of these clones seem to merit a sequel...I havent seen one yet, though...

Congrats for taking an overused part of the grand story and molding it into something (while not better or worse) different.

This story's still a good read, 6 years after the release of "Revenge of the Sith." In particular, I like the justifications you provide for why Leia went to Alderaan, Luke ended up with the Larses on Tatooine, and why Obi-Wan took the name Ben.
