Amidala_Skywalker's Comments:

There are many to thank for the existence of Balance Point.

Firstly, I do apologise for becoming a Kathy Tyers title stealer ;). I couldn’t help myself! What can I say? People who know me know I draw inspiration from any type of entertainment.

Sincere thanks go to ThawnMcEwok, who encouraged me to post this piece at the JC in the first place. I doubted the piece and my writing ability (because this is the first time I’ve written Jacen, TK, and Teneniel), but he allayed my worries. And since BP, I have written an even stranger vignette so I don’t think this story is *truly* bizarre anymore.

Thank you to my first archive beta-reader rogue11lovesjag. You always support me – and share my Trekkie roots! I’m always appreciative. Thanks also to my second archive beta-reader DarthIshtar. We really have a long history, so I’m glad we’re still friends.

Thank you to my friend obaona, my covert artist. I love your work and I always will.

Lastly, thank you to the reviewers rhonderoo (I thank BP and Here for our meeting) and MariahJade for believing BP deserved a place in the Archive.

Now, just for A/Ns sake, I think of this piece as semi-canon. To me, it complies with the books with the exception of TK becoming infected by a dangerous toxin. There isn’t much information on TK’s activities whilst Jacen was being tortured and Jaina was recovering from going Dark Side etc. Also, I’m in support of Teneniel Djo appearing in more fan fiction. She’s quite a rarity. My characterisation of her was purely an estimate. I also apologise for Jag’s characterisation. He does sound exceptionally stiff and proper – more so than usual. I believe that he would avoid clipping his words, using contractions etc around the Queen Mother. A matter of formality, professionalism - you get the point.

And believe me, I found the present tense first POV narrative disconcerting at first, but that’s how my brain and my hands wanted this story written. I hope you enjoy/ed BP! Thank you very much :).

This was very well done. I enjoyed it so much, and your talent as a writer shines through. NJO isn't even my favorite time period, but I loved this one.

You're so very talented, and it shows in every word of this lovely piece. I am so glad to see it in the archives, where it so richly deserves to be!

Excellent writing. Tenel Ka rocks! I've been disappointed by the njo books so I usually don't read njo fanfiction, but this was an exception. I like your writing style and description. Good plot, too. Great story. Keep writing!

Am, you know I love this piece to death. I love the fine line between madness and reality, confusion and determination, memory and possibility. Thanks for getting it here!

Thank you to everyone for leaving such pleasant comments!

Dathomiran: I’ve been disappointed by the lack of Tenel Ka involvement in the NJO. I think that a TK/Hapan/mystery/war/action book would have made a great addition to the series. If they could do Traitor, surely they could have done a TK/Hapan story?

Nice little summary there, Ish.

I saw Jon Harper’s comment before it was edited, so just to *clarify* for him:

The words ‘balance' and 'point' are not exclusively trademarked by Lucasfilm or Kathy Tyers, so I have all rights to use it. Personally, I’d read the ‘fic and the author’s notes before I started pointing out completely obvious facts to a fellow SW fan. Thanks.

*looks puzzled* I didn't comment on this piece already? *slaps hand*

I don't claim to be a fan of NJO, but your use of imagery (and in present tense, to boot!) was irresistible. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Congratulations, Ams! A worthy addition to the Archive, to be sure! :)

I keep on forgetting to reply to this! Sorry, Amsie. ;)

I'm a big fan of stream-of-consciousness, so I am amazed by this story. You captured Tenel Ka's character very well, and yet still maintained that unsettling feeling of fantasy. Your imagery was very surrealistic, and really gave that feeling that Tenel Ka was stuck between reality and a dream.

And I liked how you portrayed her interaction with Jacen. Spread the TK/J love, babe!

Wonderful job. *huggles* :)

I'm a huge fan of the NJO series, and therefore this fanfic was a must for me to read. I agree that in the beginning 'twas a little funny that the teller was 1st person and present tense, but I found it to be just as enrapturing as all the other NJO books. I love in particular the dreamy 'world' that she finds herself in, and the scene with Jacen and Tenel Ka talking, kissing and all that (which I loved, by the way) was so beautiful. The mystic atmosphere only heightens the pleasure of reading it - but that's just me. I, in particular, loved Traitor for being so mystical, and therefore could do nowt but love this one too. :)

Jolly good writing, I say! And that other story you mentioned about being even more bizarre...well, after this, how could I not love that too? Lol.

That story is sweet. I love Jacen and Tenel Ka together.
