WOW! This was a GREAT story! One of the best I've ever read. I'm a big fan of Sith stories and this was... wow. I love the way you show the arrogance of the master and former apprentice, and how the Shadow Sith just takes away the illusion of them being all powerful. Once again, great job and can't wait to read more from you!

One of my favorites of your works. Interesting view of Sith philosophy and tradition, and your depth of characterization only continues to increase. :)

An enjoyable read that touches on the ill-explored Star Wars history during the Old Republic (even though the Republic had nothing to do with it :p). Very nice how Girion's strenght turned out to be his weakness.

wow, this story was so easy to visualize. it was almost like i was reading a full scale novel. i really liked how the 2nd apprentice won, and kicked the other sith's butt. from one sith lord to another "brovo, and keep those stories coming".

Finally, a comprehensive fic about the Sith that doesn't have the word "Sidious" in it. Loved the story as well as the characters. Please someone turn this into a fanfilm.

Awesome.

You created such a vivid, alluring world there especially the mystique of the Sith Monument and the relationship it has with Zeraii. A compelling story that I just couldn't tear my eyes away from.

Five thumbs up.

I thought it was a great bit of backstory to the enigmatic Sith tradition. I myself am currently working on a fairly long fanfic involving the first Dark Jedi (WAAAYYY long time ago!) and I must say, I'm jealous. You have created a backstory which is believable in the context, entertaining to read, and unobtrusive in the Star Wars storyline

Uber-goodness, I just might print off a copy of the sith code and tape it on my bedroom door:D. Very nice job, as I almost expected the SS to lose. Your description was perfect, it felt like I was RIGHT THERE! Yay for more depth for roleplaying! Now I can use a Sith Code!

Author: Gee Red  (signed)

Gee Red's Comments:

All to often, the Sith are portrayed as being melodramatically evil, almost like a pantomime villain. You have done credit to yourself by avoiding this stereotype, and as such you have created an engrossing and interesting piece.

This character has potential because he is more than your standard cardboard cut out, boo hiss, bad guy. Instead he is intelligent, dangerous and unique.

The fight sequences were also exceedingly well paced and fluid, and the descriptive depth created a breathless, almost suffocating atmosphere.

It's superb, congratulations!

An excellent story one of the best things I have ever read. The characterization is awesome, and it adds a completely new dimension to the Sith. In the movies and books, the Sith, more or less, are Evil, there to be destroyed by the good guy. Here, they're more or less 'human'.

That was a very entertaining story. Sometimes when authors expand the mythology of a world, it is not always for the better. But I really enjoyed the whole idea of a bastard child apprentice, whose sole purpose is a final test for the favored apprentice. Very Sith like. I enjoyed your story very much. Thanks for posting it.

That...was...amazing! Reading that was SUPERIOR in so many ways to some of the official publications out there - the way you created the setting and managed to give the characters depth and gripping interest was simply stunning, especially given the relative length of your work! More stories in this vein are eagerly awaited!!

Very good. (Like enough peaople haven't said that already). Honestly, I think the Sith have the right idea as far as warfare and combat goes, as opposed to the Jedi, who are downright wusses at times. I loved the story, it was very thought -provoking and intelligent

This was nice, but... all wierd with the shrine.
It just reminded me a charger for a cellphone.
Written well anyway, I loved the main idea of the shadow Sith and thestupidness of Girion, it was clear that he relied too much on the foresight.

That was a very enjoyable, engrossing, fast-paced read. I particularly liked the way you differentiated the strengths and weaknesses of the two apprentices to help bring out their differences in personality.

My only complaint is that I don't share your vision of the Dark Side--from what I can gather, Light Side users let the Force use them, while Dark Side users treat it as something to be wielded. (Or maybe I'm too locked into Girion's and Terannor's mindset.)

In the end, it's just a difference of opinion, and I'm more than happy to give this a 10. I look forward to reading the sequel!
