A powerful, beautifully written vignette, VaderLVR64. The way you portray Anakin as believing that he has no choice, that he is not worthy of the light and that it is too late for him, makes his decision even more tragic.

wow, i am quite impressed with this work. it was a quite touching story, it almost makes you wonder what might have happened if anakin had stayed in the light.

I'm sorry to say this wasn't a very good story. I am a shipper of Padme and Anakin and hello!!!!! Anakin would never believe that padme would betray him and hello again! She wouldn't!
I'm sorry, but I disliked this story and you made it seem that anakin and padme dont love eachother. And again Padme never left Anakin. he left her.

I think the story was very well written, however, it implies that Luke has already been born. From what I have read of the script, the twins are born AFTER Anakin has already made his fateful choice to go to the dark side. In addition, the DVD version of Episode V indicates that Vader didn't even know that he had a son until the Emperor revealed it to him in the hologram in the Empire Strikes Back.

Luke wasn't born yet, Padme was pregnant when she left. That is based on the spoiler pics showing her obviously pregnant in the presence of Anakin. And from everything I have been able to read, Anakin did not know she was pregnant with twins. Thus, only one baby was mentioned (and thanks to my betas for catching that!) I didn't mean to make it seem Luke was born, because Vader did not know he existed until after A New Hope when his identity was revealed by a captured Rebel.

Brilliant. Chilling, sorta scary, but brilliant. I love the idea of Anakin turning because he doesn't think he's good enough for Padme, because that is so something he would do. I love this:

"A slave had been beneath her, and a Jedi had proved unworthy. But what about a man who helped to rule the galaxy? Perhaps he would be deserving of her love."

^ Really really really well-written. Just the entire thing... it was so good; I could imagine Anakin doing and saying everything you had him do and say, and that sure takes talent. =P Great title, too.

Just wanted to say I thought this was really well-written, probably one of the most entertaining fanfics I've ever read. It gave me goose bumps. Really puts you in the mind of Anakin/Vader, which is a bit of a scarey place to be.

this snippet of of the life of anikin portrays his step into the darkness. I love the way the author describes the two sides (light and of course the dark). This written piece really delves into what I think is the feelings of skywalker so I find that this is a great story and the author has talent.

I agree with every single comment posted. This tale is beautiful. Very well done, it gave me shivers.

To hear one's thoughts on anothers is one thing, but to feel as if you are actually in the mind of that other is true bloody talent.

It's depressing, really. How Anakin thinks himself in a state of low self-esteem, unworthy of Padme's love. Which is obviously not true but it what he thinks nontheless. How he feels he has no choice but to turn to the dark side, to give in to the force that easily corrupts his mind. And then you look at how peaceful he could of been, a loving father, him, Obi-Wan and Padme, and of course the others, living peacefully throughout their days.

Think of that, and go back to the original trilogies, where as the Emperor is about to kill Luke who is already in searing pain, Vader will not stand for it any longer and kills the Emporer; his master. And with those last agonizing moments, Anakin Skywalker returns, seeing his son through his own eyes for the first time. * sniffle * it's so depressing. Just makes you wanna cry. * quivers bottom lip *

Again, wonderfully done. I too can see Anakin acting exactly as you have him. Just, beautiful.

When this fic was first published I refused to read it because of the spoilers thing, but I'm really glad I stumbled back upon it.

This rivals the film's depiction. In fact, I think I might like this better.
