Just a fun read! I'm so happy this piece sits in the Archive. One thing though, it needs a "no drinking soda" warning at the top. I laughed so hard at one point my coke spewed all over the screen.

but I didnt get why Mace was friends w/ Xanatos isnt mace old, and Xanatos not much older then Obiwan.

shawti – Glad you liked it. A good question. I didn't realize until the SW gold timeline came out that Mace is only a year younger than Xanatos. I always thought that Mace was much older, almost Qui-Gon's age. But he's actually 20 years or so younger. So once I found out that Mace and Xan were almost the same age, this story was born. I was just wondering... where did you find out that Xan and Mace were in the same age-group? I've always heard that Qui-Gon and Mace were best friends growing up?

Good question. I'll email you but I thought I should answer it here as well.

I also thought that Qui-Gon and Mace were age-mates for a long time until I needed to find out someone's age for another story. I found a couple of timelines that were very helpful and, surprise, Mace and Xanatos were closer in age than Mace and Qui-Gon.

Wookieepedia, the Star Wars wiki, has a timeline of most of the character's dates of birth, death and major events. It shows Mace being born in 72 BBY (Battle of Yavin) - a year before Xanatos (71 BBY).

Star Wars timeline gold (SWTG) had their ages reversed, Mace being younger by a year or so. I used that timeline for my story here - not because I needed Mace to be younger but because I found SWTG first. LOL.

Either way, Xan and Mace are pretty close in age and I thought they'd make a good team.
