I really liked it. It's always interesting to see events of the Original Trilogy from Vader's point of view.

I suspect that some event (doubtless perpetrated by Palpatine) made him believe that Obi-Wan had betrayed him years earlier.

I sensed that there were still parts of Anakin Skywalker trying to break through. Especially how he reflects about the ideals he once had.

Any chance for some sequels? Perhaps one about Vader's thoughts as he faces Luke in Cloud City (especially after their confrontation), or even after ROTJ, when he meets Obi-Wan again within the Force.

RRK, I had longed to see some of your work displayed here. Lovely, awe-inspiring job! The neglect and the feeling of detachment that flowed from Vader was enormous and in the end, when he seethed at Kenobi's death, I had to chuckle. After all, that old man had much more up his sleeve -- much more.

Excellent story since I beta read it...I could feel Vader's empty quest and fury just like in the original Star Wars movie in 1977....The sequel cometh...

Good story. Very impressed. One thing i think you got wrong was when Vader cuts down Ben. I've read before that he doesn't even connect. That ben disappears before vaders lightsabre even touches the old jedi.
Also I sense you got some of your ideas from Shadow of the Empire. Which I thought protrayed Vader the best in all the novals and comics.
Again well done. An enjoyable read.

Hey RRK, great seeing your work up here! Wonderful as always. (How about a new chapter of "The Long Twilight Path" at FF.net? Sorry, had to ask. ;)

Greetings dear respected members of the republic,

I must say that this was a wonderful story about what was going on in Anakin's mind during that climatic confrotation. Yet, as the author has so eloquently explained it truly was not the end of Obi-Wan Ben Kenobi. Look for me to become a regular on this site. At the time I am busy trying to keep the republic from successionist idealists.

A very good rewrite of that original scene. I liked your version of Vader's POV at the final confrontation (direct confrontation, anyway) between Obi-Wan and Vader.

Hi,
Just wanted to comment on the nice work in using the original dialogue and providing Vader's internal monologue. Very nicely done.
Would be fun to see the story also told from Old Ben's point of view too! :)

Sharply written and flowing work. It brought to mind the contrast between former student and former teacher, and how the differences remained until the end.

Great story i think you captured vader's thoughts well.
any chance for a sequel?
maybe his thoughts as he finds out luke is force sensitive or when he confronts him in cloud city or the second death star or when he meets obi wan in the force

Very nice. It's difficult to capture a split-second's thoughts and fully realize them. You did that perfectly. Vader is such a complicated character, it is wonderful to see another fic dealing with yet another side of him, on that is completely immersed in the dark side, yet has a connection to the light that cannot be severed.

Very interesting fic. I love all fics about the old Star Wars movies, from Vader's POV. This is nicely written, very much in character. I like how small parts of Anakin seems to come forth. Good work!

Too many sentence fragments. And too many of "Red and Blue" and vice versas. But, all in all, it's OK.

Beautiful work. :D I've been waiting to see a story showing the movies from a different view... especially that of the Empire.

I hope to see more work by you.

Wow, that was really amazing. I never did think of what Vader must have been thinking on his way to confront Obi-Wan... You are an excellent writer, and captured the entire scene quite perfectly.

I agree with the first comment..Anakin was still trying to break through the hull of darkness that he was trapped in. It was beautifully written...:)

Well done. YOu captured the essence of Vader's character about 90% of the way there, far closer than most would. Good job indeed!
