I have a weird liking for Gungans, and your stories -- both this one and "Something of Value," which I think people reading this one will also enjoy -- are such a joy to read. You've really portrayed the culture well, and created believable and interesting Gungan characters. More important, you've individuated your characters -- it's so easy to have a "Gungan type," but instead you've gone and introduced us to Treese and Rift and Tarpals, etc, each of which is a genuine and rounded character. Good job.

I must say that I have been reading fan fictions for over a year, and this is the first time I am commenting on a story, simply because it was brilliant!
I don't really like or dislike the Gungans, but this story opened up a whole new world of the Gungans. I found myself wanting to learn more about the Gungan & Naboo cultures as I read on.
I also must comment the author on the realism of the characters and how they interacted with each other. It was believable, especially at the end when the parents of Graf wanted to know if they could visit and was promptly told no because of the way it simply was.
Bravo! Keep up the good work! I'll be sure to read any of your stories in the future.

Masterful and brilliant. Your descriptions and play on worlds is simply incredible and like Fernwithy mentioned the culture and the way you describe the whole Gungan lifestyle makes me tingle the same way I did when I saw the scene in the Phantom Menace when the gungan army trotted out of the mist.

I think this is my favorite in your series so far Seldes! The emphasis that the Sacred Place is for all living things is a very good theme. And I really like the flashback method starting out with the parade that way.

A wonderful story! I liked the young Gungans a lot; the one thinking that the gods would protect them in the Sacred Place, and the other thinking that if not, at least there would be lots of hidey places. I also liked the way the youngsters told the adults that all living beings were welcome in the Sacred Place, even humans and veermoks! You really make the Gungan culture come alive and look delightfully appealing.

This was a very touching story about three gungans [one adult and two children]and a teenaged nabooan.Captain Tarpals' character was very much reinforced along with rift and treese's story.

Gungans rock! Love yousa new characters and hopin' yousa writin more. I love the gungans. I;m sorry, but they are the most like human alien species I have ever seen portrayed, and the fact that they played such a crutial roll didn't hurt either.
