I wanted to thank my betas, Jeri and Mina, particularly for the help with the Gungan speech.

This story was a pleasure to beta and even better (if that's possible) to read in its final form. I love the connections drawn between Leia and Anakin, Padmé and Anakin, Luke and Leia...and I love seeing a Gungan (Jar-Jar, even!) portrayed in a positive light. It's a nice change of pace. This is one of those stories that I know I'll come back to read again.

That was an extremely interesting theory on what may have happened to Jar Jar. You see in between episodes I and II that he becomes more of an intelligent character. Maybe his importance will play out in III. Your writing style was nice as well. Keep the creativity coming.

Wow, that is really interesting. I've never even considered where Jar-Jar was that whole time . . .

Goodness, Fern, that's amazing! I had thought Jar Jar was killed either in III or between II and III, and I admit, I had even hoped for that because Jar Jar really started the Clone Wars, but I am glad that you made him alive and able to tell the twins about one of the last (probably) good deeds that their father ever did. Wonderful story, and one that DEFINATELY needs a sequel. Keep writing!

Another great story, FernWithy! I liked how you didn't definetly say what happened in Ep III, and showed that something was left in Vader except dark.

I almost didn't read this story, but I'm glad I did. I loved the way you portrayed Jar Jar. There's an obvious change in his personality, a touch of seriousness. Leia's reaction to Jar Jar is what I think would actually happen, and I liked the way Vader helped the Gungans escape. A brilliant story- maybe you could write a sequel where Luke and Leia meet up with Jar Jar again.

Wonderful characterizations of Leia and Jar-Jar. You captured the inherent dignity of the Gungans that we glimpsed in Captain Tarpals during TPM and that was hinted at in the way Jar-Jar conducted himself before the Senate in AOTC. Thank you for another wonderful story.

I've been waiting and waiting for another one of your beautiful fics, Fern, and, of course, was well rewarded! Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful work, as always. I agree with the others; Jar Jar was well portrayed in your story. Keep writing, and I'll keep reading!!!

This was a GREAT story! I hated Jar Jar in the prequels, but you managed to make him less annoying, even slightly funny. However, I have two minor gripes. Number one, on that day, the Rebellion hears about the Ssi-ruuk and it says that Luke has been in the hospital for that day. Number two, Naboo is a planet in Star Wars Galaxies, leading me to believe that Palpatine uses it as his hideaway (or he could pull a Hethrir and blow his own world to ash, but not likely).

Well, I don't pay attention to the EU (not my cup of tea), so my stories aren't EU-compliant, except with Jedi Apprentice and Jedi Quest.

Thanks for all the nice comments.

I'm not going to lie, I didn't enjoy this fanfic. In my opinion your characterization of Leia is horribley off, plus I wasn't too crazy about the plot overall, seems tired and over used.

Nah. Nice story though!

A wonderful story that Lucas should consider making canon....I hope when he makes Episode III Jar Jar survives the movie, so this story could take it rightful place in the grand scheme of things. Good work.

I personally can't stand Jar Jar, but this is a really well done story and makes him not so annoying. Very well done and shows the differing opinoins of Vader for Luke and Leia very well.

This fitted in so well with the cannon. I Think it was the best most natural peice of writing I've read for a long time. Nothing forced into place just for the sake of it.

I must congratulate to Fernwithy for this fanfic because it united in a very intelligent way the two trilogies, presenting to a polemic character as Jar-Jar in a simple and worthy way... congratulations.

Good stuff. I can't wait to read the rest of Jar-Jar's Anakin stories. I likee the humanization of Vader, the indications of conflict; compelled to serve (or enslaved by?) Palpatine, yet with a functioning conscience - something George always intended.
More!

Wonderful story. You really hit the nail on the head with the feelings both Luke and Leia were experiencing after Jedi. The longing in Luke to know of his father's true self and the disdain Leia felt having had only negative interaction with him. I would love to read the sequel, the time when she is ready to know more about him, perhaps a time later in the expanded universe after her meetings with the Noghri, she might then be ready to learn more about Anakin's past. Great job.

This is such a good piece of writing. I love that Jar Jar survived, and was able to tell the twins about Anakin/Vader. And he's very much your Vader, not the totally evil monster that some people make him out to be.

Great piece, Fern!

I've often thought of what might happen after the party on Endor, as I'm sure Luke revisits thouse ashes again, and probably takes Leia.

I love the way Jar-Jar intertwines the two era's in this story. Luke and Leia's characterization is spot on, and I can't think of a better way for them to first hear of their father. I love stories like this and judging from this, you are one of the best at writing them! It just feels like a natural flowing piece into the tapestry of ROTJ.

Politics is about, and functions by, the person-to-person relationships, not the polls or the numbers this week. Luke and Leia will find out how true that is soon enough.

Nice touch. Jar-Jar *would* show up to honor Anakin, despite everything he did as DV. But it begs the question, how did he learn what Anakin did to his boss??

Oh well, it's your fic: you can do what you want! :)

This was wonderful!!! I don't exactly consider myself a Jar-Jar fan, but I do think that he is far to often shown in a negative light. I honestly feel sorry for him. This story really showed Jar-Jar's better, more respectable side. Yah! I have another story that stars Jar-Jar. (Maybe you will see it sometime soon.) Keep writing such great stories!!!!

Dude, FINALLY someone who sees Jar-Jar as an important player in the story! I love the some what goofy gungan, and those who don't are missing his importance. while his actions in AOTC did lead to the clone wars and palpatines emperorization, they were mearly the veiw of the loyalist commity. Jar-jar had no way of knowing palpy was a sith, and neither did any one else, so back off you Jar-Jar haters. I really loved your story Fern, and I hope ther are others. I'm also working on a fan fic for Jar Jar thattakes place in both TPM and a yer and a half after ROTS (just a little constructive critisism, please, work just a little harder on yousa gugan spake please:))

Just have to defend Yousa FernWithy, sorry If mesa got a leetle carried away ;)
