Wow, that was an incredible story. I think it must be the best fanfiction I've ever read. I really liked ... everything; the interaction between Obi-Wan and Padme, the way Obi-Wan also had feelings for Luminara, the entire backstory of the plot against the Senator and the way they wanted to frame Obi-Wan for it, the incredible richness of details and the depth of emotions, the way Padme was thinking that Anakin would mature eventually, and then the way he didn't tell Obi-Wan about his marriage to Padme. I could write pages of praise. Excellent story.

Bravo!!! I may get over the hump of doing a doubletake over Padme and Obi-wan being so close. Luminara was a nice touch. Please keep the good coming and coming. By the way, since I am droning on and on, loved the story!!

Beautiful, just beautiful! Took me two days to read, but was definently worth it! It was the perfect Obi-Wan and Padme fic, bordering on Obi-dala, but the charectors knowing it could enver work that way. Perfect charecterization of the charectors, and love the element of mother-hood also brought into this!

I absolutely LOVED this story, Quiller! At first, I was feeling guilty, for Anakin's sake. But I was relieved to find that while Padme and Obi-Wan are certainly attracted to each other, they have both given their hearts to other people.

My favorite line in the whole story - well, ONE of them, anyway, was when poor Dorme tells Padme:

"Anakin arrived just a few minutes ago. He is ... pacing."

You can just see impetuous, impatient Ani stalking the halls, wondering what COULD be keeping his wife! I loved that.

I also liked your use of foreshadowing, as far as how Obi-Wan ends up, and how he's "going to make that boy a Jedi if it kills [him]", and, as we know, it does.

What I am trying to get across that words can't express how much I adored this story. But I tried. :p

Very lovely. I liked how you made Obi-Wan and Padme interact - it made for some interesting conversations and relevations. I especially liked how you had Obi's feelings for Luminara in there, and his attitude about it. I always felt there was *something* going on between the two of them. ;)

Very interesting how you had the government be so willing to be after a Jedi, as well - a foreshadowing, I suppose. ;) It was kind of chilling.

Well done. :)

This story was so good! I'm not a fan of the idea of Obi-Wan and Padme having any sort of romantic feelings for each other, but you handled the issue so well that I found myself really liking the way their relationship developed in this story. You did a great job exploring the complexities of each character and the dilemmas brought on by their chosen paths in life. The story was also full of both great tension and great humor, which can be a difficult combination to achieve. After reading the whole story, I really find myself believing it could have happened between Episodes II and III. Excellent work (as usual), Quiller!

Very nice piece of work – Although Didi and Astri sold their restaurant to Dex by Episode II.
The dialogue was excellent- and true to the characters. You give a really good character development to Obi-Wan that is seen in Episode IV and on. I like it a lot!

MaraJade, thank you for pointing out my unintentional AU twist in the tale. Let that be a lesson to me: always double check the facts.

Well, I did tell you that Bariss lived right? Well, go to starwars.com and look for Jocasta Nu's archived questions, and there you go. I'm disapointed that there was no niggling, but hey, thats just me! I do think that this story was different then the one you sent me.....? B/c this certainly doesn't need a sequel. Ok, good job Q!

Quiller's Comments:

Hi Barissa. Thanks for the info on Barriss. The question to Jocasta Nu was whether Barriss survived the arena battle, which Jocasta says she did. For the purposes of my story, she may have survived that battle, but did not survive the subsequent battles on Geonosis. Am I being picky? Possibly. Am I writing AU? Probably. <shrug> That's how it goes.

[i]Who knew that Obi-wan could be so sexy?!![i/]

I blushed. His name contains the Japanese word for the cloth belt around his tunic (an "obi"). Disciplined and "cordoned off," that's OBW. ;)

And yet, he's also flesh and bone. Love, friendship, loyalty . . ..

Padme reminds me of her daughter! LOL. I hope that was intended. :)

wow. It only took me a couple of paragraphs before I "heard" the voices as I read them. Solid stuff!

Write more, and do it often as possible. That felt *good* as I read it.

This is a genuinely entertaining story. I enjoyed the action and intrigue and Astri was a nice bonus. As a Padme Amidala fan, I was dissapointed in her characterisation - needy, sensual, belligerent. And despite, his opinions to Anakin in AotC, Obi-Wan does have some respect/amity towards Padme ('what will Padme do were she in your position?', the entire events of TPM) and his initial hostility/prejudice in this story (in fact, the entire concept of their becoming friends) is a bit strange. Despite that, I still enjoyed the story, it was well written and it should appeal to any Obidala fan.

quiller, i've always liked your writing but wow..that was a long one.. lol! great stuff. only "criticism" i might have is the padme you've created could have borne a little more resemblance to george lucas' padme.. but then again, that padme never really had all that much depth of character as yours has. good job... oh yea i also liked the life- and family-affirming worldviews you've given some of your character.. good stuff.

Here I am again, reading yet another amazing Quiller story. You never cease to amaze. I love your style, the writing, the descriptions, they all just seem to have a certain... Aura. It's really very interesting. I loved the sarcastic bickering between Obi-Wan and Padme, very true to the characters. And the fact that the waiting was driving everyone crazy. That entire paragraph about Obi-Wan waiting for 29 1/2 minutes was great. Again, the stories you can create are great, I love the fact that they are so long too, one can just get lost in the story for a couple hours and not even care. It actually takes me about as long to read this story as it does to watch a Star Wars movie. Funny, no? Anyway, another lovely, inspiring tale. I'm off to read the sequel as continuing with my sudden urge to read Quiller stories.
