Wow...this was written so well. Being a new mother myself, I completely saw where Leia was coming from. Two lines struck me very much:

"The most frightening thing is that I can't protect my children - they are outside of me, complete and unique beings on their own." That's a hard realization to come to. You want to protect your children--you would do anything to protect them--and knowing that you don't have control over things that happen is hard to let go of.

"I would kill anyone who hurt my children." It's amazing how much you feel this way after having a child. It kind of brings out the mother bear instinct in you.

I loved seeing an in-depth look of Leia's first moments with her children, and all of the thoughts that ran through her head. It really brings to life the responsibility she had as a mother, and as a leader of the New Republic. She had hard choices to make, but she was always looking out for the safety of her children.

This was a great read! And so very true! As someone mentioned, the realizaton that you really can't protect your children from everything is a very hard realization. One I'm still grappling with. And a very great truth in "If anyone's them, I'll kill them." Boy can I relate to that. This is really a wonderful write. Again, you have done great work!!

You've written some of my favorite fics Obaona, and this one is cute. I really like peices that show even just 5 or 10 minutes in the GFFA, and yet explain so much. Good job.

I am awestruck...again! This sounds so much like the Leia we know and love. She stays like this throughout the rest of her life doesn't she? I just finished the Young Jedi Knights Book "Shadow Academy" and she sounds exactly like your portrayal of her during her brief appearance. Write on obanoa!

You certainly have a way with words. And you clearly have a sense of what Leia would go through after having her children. You included how protective she is, no matter what kind of fear she might be experiencing. Very well done! :) By the way-I have read many, many fics on Leia and Han, and such characters..but this one captured the true essence of Leia. :)
