NOTE : If a reviewer beta-reads a fan fiction, that reviewer cannot review that fan fiction if it ever gets submitted.
NOTE : If you are looking for a beta-reader for your fan fiction, you can simply e-mail the Beta-Readers Email List (betareaders@fanfic.theforce.net), and it will be sent to 50+ beta-readers, who can contact you about the possibility of doing a beta-reading (if they are interested in doing it). One does not have to be registered or subscribed to the mailing list in order to send mail to it.
The beta reader mailing list is for requests only. DO NOT use it to distribute your story.
Limits :
I dislike Alternate Universe material, Romances, and any stories revolving around previously unknown relatives of major characters. So please don't send me Obi-Wan Kenobi's brother Steve falls in love with Padme which drives Anakin to kill Steve thus becoming Darth Vader wihtout all the painful supposed lava business.
Oh and I beg you, no Boba Fett or IG-88 please.

I'm a Project Manager for a large US firm. I read fan fiction to take a break and escape for a little while. I've read the NJO and the Thrawn Trilogy, but that's it for the EU. If your story doesn't require me to remember the names of every Qel-Droma that ever stapped on a lightsaber, I'll read it. If your story forces me to recall something from an EU book or comic, heck even a videogame, you've lost me right there.
I dig Jedi stories and I'm working on one about the birth of the Jedi order. If I beta read a story, I look for style rather than substance. Long patches of dialog upset me, even if the dialog is really fantastic. By the same token, really long spells with no dialog make me wonder what the heck is going on. Just like Ani brought balance to the Force, I look for balance in the narrative.

Nothing obscene or lewd, blah de blah blah, aka, nothing you would NOT want your mother to read

I love Star Wars, I have read over 100 books, and thats only counting those on the official Star Wars Timeline. I'm good at spotting contradictions between books.
Limits :
I'll beta-read almost anything, but I don't have a good knowlege of EU beyond how it's interpreted in the Archives, so I probably wouldn't be able to help with plot or characterisation there, as far as continuity goes. Odd pairings don't really bother me, neither do unusual interpretations of the GFFA. Although I'm interested in Padmé and Anakin (as he has been shown in the prequels so far) I don't feel like I know them very well, so I may not be much help in terms of their characterisation.
Comments :
I've been a fan of SW since I first saw the OT, although I'm more of a prequel gal myself. I love AUs. My interest in SW lies mainly in what happens off camera, so I love missing scenes and other vignettes, especially ones that illustrate character's motivations. I'm also interested in the minor characters, and people overlooked in the saga, like ordinary Rebels and Imperial soldiers, and especially the handmaidens. Despite having read little EU, Mara fascinates me, as do Siri and Adi Gallia. I'm fanscinated by the characters in the Empire, and by trying to see them as more than standard villain 2D cut-outs. Likewise, I like to explore the darker side of the Rebellion, and the imperfections of the Jedi Order. If anyone has written any stories featuring Grand Moff Tarkin, I'd love to read them, since he seems to have been mostly overlooked on the Archives!
Limits :
I will read anything within those specifications.
