NOTE : If a reviewer beta-reads a fan fiction, that reviewer cannot review that fan fiction if it ever gets submitted.
NOTE : If you are looking for a beta-reader for your fan fiction, you can simply e-mail the Beta-Readers Email List (betareaders@fanfic.theforce.net), and it will be sent to 50+ beta-readers, who can contact you about the possibility of doing a beta-reading (if they are interested in doing it). One does not have to be registered or subscribed to the mailing list in order to send mail to it.
The beta reader mailing list is for requests only. DO NOT use it to distribute your story.
Limits :
I'm more interested in stuff that takes itself relatively seriously, not humour stuff. But humour elements in a more straight-style story are fine.
Comments :
I'll be better suited to stuff that doesn't require super-extensive EU knowledge but other than that - send anything !!

I will read absolutely nothing that contains prequel spoilers. Do not send it. I am a writer myself and I hope to learn from your work, as much as I hope you can learn from my comments. Make sure you know the proper gramatical format. I'm not checking for grammar (or spelling, 'cause I can't spell either), but if I see that, for the most part, you have a strong grasp of grammatical format, I will take the time to correct the (hopefully) few mistakes I see. Also, don't send me anything like a Lando-Chewie-Jar Jar love triangle. That's just wrong.
Comments :
I prefer stories based on secondary characters. I want to see your characters not George's. I can count on two hands the number of SW authors who have captured the essence of the character as seen on the screen. It's hard for me to read stories about the main characters, unless you really have a handle on them. I want to see your characterization and story. I want to see a character start as one thing at the beginning of the book, and change by the end. If you want an honest opinion of your fiction, I WONT sugercoat it for you with stuff like, "It was good, or I liked (insert character name)." I WILL tell you what I liked and disliked and offer some suggestions on how to make your story as good as it can be.
Limits :
Hmm...it has to have a PLOT. I like a good story.
It also has to be exciting. Nothing that'll put me to sleep. Not neccessarily action per se, but stuff has to happen to people. Things that don't occur in everyday life.
Comments :
I really like stuff about pilots, anything along those lines is great. (I'm really not as picky as this thing makes me out to be. If you e-mail me something, I'll almost certainly read it, with of course the above exceptions.)
Limits :
I won't beta-read anything NC-17... of course, you folks are too decent to submit that stuff, riiiight? ;-) Also, I don't do slash- those just disturb me...
Comments :
Well, I haven't written anything yet, though I'm working on a few fics... I must stress that I really, REALLY like original characters, which makes sense given my RPer background- especially if said original characters aren't involved too much with canon chars! (Hint, hint all you Mary Sues out there!)
I consider myself a good speler *wink* and I also have a fairly good grasp of grammar... thanks to 10th grade teachers, heh.
One more thing: Imperials rule! :-) I love reading stories about Imperials- sometimes, they're really not as evil as the movies would have you believe! 'Evil' really depends on perspective, hehe.
Limits :
I wouldn't want to read something exstremly out there. I'll read alternate universe things but no relationships with something like Obi-wan and Padmé. No Han and Mara. No Leia and Lando. Nothing crazy like that. I will take Obi-wan adn Sabé though. I don't like rip offs though so don't take things from other movies and put them in your fan fic. I don't really care what rating it is, I'll read anything from rating G to X. I will read almost anything.
Limits :
I'll do anything, but no spoilers. Missing scenes and Jedi Apprentice are my specialties (see below). I love Jar-jar, so no "ha he jer jer runns into bg bom and diees! te endd," junk for me.
Comments :
I'm speicifically intrested in the "kid" stories. I call them that because "Jedi Apprentice" hardly does it service- anything with main characters < 18, I love. I'll do stuff like the Anakin/Amidala romance, but no sister kissers. ;-)
