NOTE : If a reviewer beta-reads a fan fiction, that reviewer cannot review that fan fiction if it ever gets submitted.
NOTE : If you are looking for a beta-reader for your fan fiction, you can simply e-mail the Beta-Readers Email List (betareaders@fanfic.theforce.net), and it will be sent to 50+ beta-readers, who can contact you about the possibility of doing a beta-reading (if they are interested in doing it). One does not have to be registered or subscribed to the mailing list in order to send mail to it.
The beta reader mailing list is for requests only. DO NOT use it to distribute your story.
Limits :
I don't like EU or anything after the movies. I also don't especially like fics that focus on Han Solo alot.
Comments :
I really like the Skywalkers, and and especially Anakin. I like to read Obi-Wan fics, and i think that i know his charecter pretty well. I will do grammar but im not to great at that. I am best at plot analysis. I really like Prequel stuff.
Limits :
1) Stories with boy/boy and girl/girl relationships (other than siblings/parents/whatever) 2) Stories where characters such as Luke get killed off. They're tollerable to a certain extent. 3) No over descriptive (over PG-13) romance scenes.
Comments :
I have very good writing skills and love beta reading. Generally I can have your story back as soon as possible, depending on my schedule for work. When I beta read, I'll give 'codes' telling you what color font is for grammar/spelling/etc before editing it and then I'll send the edited version back. Please don't get impatient with me. I'll let you know if I can no longer beta read your story. I'll read long fics as long as it's sent a chapter at a time and you wait until I've edited a chapter before sending the next one. You should have good writing abilities...general spelling/grammar abilities are a plus.
Comments :
I am opinionated, but with an open mind. I don't know everything about anything, but I know something about practically everything, and what I don't know I'm willing to learn. I'm not a procrastinator, and I give my all to anything I feel is worth doing. I'm not critical, and I like personal eccentricities in a story. I'm good with grammar and spelling as well. I have enough free time to get the job done and done well. I won't tell you how to write your story, I'll just help make sure you're satisfied with it. But enough about me; let's talk about you.
Limits :
Not many when it comes to violence, romance, or language. I don't do NJO or much outside the Saga, mostly because I haven't read enough books to do a good job. I also prefer fics on the shorter side, but I won't turn you down because of story length.
Comments :
I'm a baseball fanatic and I like practically everything a sci-fi/fantasy person can like: LOTR, SW, ST, HP, Drizzt. As for writing, I specialize in dialogue. Too many conversations in fics sound forced, and my writing style is naturally, well, natural.
Limits :
No Episode III spoilers. No humor for the sake of humor pieces (though witty dialogue is loved). No poems either.
Comments :
My strongest specialized area is probably in general EU knowledge. Particularly post-RotJ. However, I'm not limiting myself to them and would gladly aid with any OT or PT stories come my way. I'm competant in spelling and grammar, but prefer to help with the formation of the piece (plot, pacing, characterization, continuity, etc.). As a writer, I'm preparing to move on from the safety of George Lucas's universe, but I have finished short story and a script for Episode III.

I'd prefer that it's not more than around 2500 words, but if it's not too far over, or if you want me to read it for some reason, that's cool.

I'm a computer science major at Brown University, and I will be going into my 4th semester in a row as a nightly Copy Editor for the Brown Daily Herald. If I read your submission, you can be guaranteed that it will come back with extremely few grammatical or lexical errors. However, I'm only an amateur when it comes to serious fiction authoring, so if you pick me, try also to send your work to someone else with more creative writing experience. I know my way extremely well around technology, combat, weapons, and ships. Additionally, I've ready just about Star Wars book in the EU with the exception of most of the NJO series, and I obviously own the original trilogy on DVD and have played many of the relevant computer games. I prefer something from after Episode III and before the NJO series, but I'm open to anything. I prefer work with new characters, because if they're already established, I not only have to make sure the character's behavior is consistent with the rest of the story but also that it is consistent with other sources.
Limits :
Not gonna read it if it's not prequel. Sorry folks! I just can't get into the original star wars-ness. Luke and Leia just don't do it for me like Anakin and Obi-Wan
Comments :
I'd love to read your stuff, especially if it's an Anakin and Obi-Wan adventure between episodes one and two about (those are my favorites!), and I DIE for Siriwan. Knock me out! I'm excited!
