NOTE : If a reviewer beta-reads a fan fiction, that reviewer cannot review that fan fiction if it ever gets submitted.
NOTE : If you are looking for a beta-reader for your fan fiction, you can simply e-mail the Beta-Readers Email List (betareaders@fanfic.theforce.net), and it will be sent to 50+ beta-readers, who can contact you about the possibility of doing a beta-reading (if they are interested in doing it). One does not have to be registered or subscribed to the mailing list in order to send mail to it.
The beta reader mailing list is for requests only. DO NOT use it to distribute your story.
Limits :
Overly violent or graphic stories. Don't get me to beta read anything that would get a VERY VERY strong "Pg-13". Or R and above. Pretty much most fics will be accepted.
Comments :
I love X-Wing stuff, don't care THAT much for Jedi stuff. I like pretty much all the characters;Jar-Jar Binks and EP1 Anakin annoy me.

Anything that copies the same ideas in the Star Wars genre in terms of taking a existing plotline and changing just characters names or small events claiming the idea to be "original".
I will specifically NOT read any fanfiction submissions that contain "godlike" characters who are one dimensional characters. What good is making a character that is practically untouchable, or indestructable. There is no point to battle if you have no risk of loss or injury.
I understand Sith kill Jedi and vice versa but I won't accept an excuse that they do this "just because". There must be a reason for a character to hate, love, become angered, turn to the dark side.
The last thing I will not read is any fanfiction that pertains to making a "Jedi" violate his code and everyone is "ok" with this, such as killing a Sith in cold blood or vengeance.
The Jedi have their code and their limitations, understand this and abide by it.

Hello, my name is Nick and I have been writing Star Wars Fanfiction for about three years. In addition to that I am studying for my BFA in Digital Media at Otis College in CA.
Unlike most approaches to fanfiction, I tend to stay away from disrupting the established continuty of the SW universe, and take my own path to explain missing scenes in the movies and fit in my own characters, plotlines, and Jedi/Sith philosopies as well.
I will be happy to lend advice to those who wish it from me and am always happy to talk on Yahoo Messenger or in chat rooms. I began writing fanficion by first role playing in yahoo chatrooms and eventually retired from it.
For me, fanfiction is about exploring your creative impulses and getting the images you see from your mind into print, and into other reader's minds who share your interest. I create not only stories but artwork for them as well.
To better paint a picture in the minds of those who follow my written works. You'll notice that my style is different then normal novelization methods. I'm not biased towards it, it is just how I feel best handles my approach to painting a picture in my audience's minds. The structure is a hybrid of novelization and screenplay elements.
I look forward to speaking with you, lending advice and taking my place among the rest of those who dare to dream, live the adventure, and explore the regions of their individual imaginations.
Best of luck!
-Val/Nick
Limits :
Not that I dislike them, but there's no need for me to read Luke/Mara/Han/Leia stories, as there are so many other qualified beta-readers out there for Republic/New Republic stories. Send me a message about anything else, though!
Comments :
I'm very open to reading long (over 15,000 words) manuscripts.
Stickler for grammar and style, and plot holes.
My credentials:
Contributing Editor of Murder: Past Tense, the Journal of the Historical Mystery Appreciation Society.
Experienced writer and reviewer for websites and historical journals.
SW Fan fiction writer myself.
Life in the Star Wars Universe is good! Let me know if I can assist you.
Limits :
I have very little knowledge about anything post-ROTJ, so please do not get me to beta-read anything post-ROTJ; I will probably be unable to comprehend the intricacies of it. I tend to be rather particular about grammar and language use, so please ensure that your story is rather readable to begin with, i.e. it has the necessary paragraphing and is not too confusing. I would much prefer it if you could stick to the characters I have chosen, because those are the ones I am most familiar with; I do, however, appreciate vignettes vaguely related to these characters.
Comments :
I don't read much EU, so whatever I know is mostly based on the Prequels. I don't mind a story, whether long or short, as long as it is well organised. My favourite is JA, JQ and LotJ, so I would probably be able to give the best response in that area. I'd definitely give my best into each story that I read.
Limits :
I am able to expand my knowledge of the Star Wars universe, so hit me with anything you got.

Comments: I don't know much about the universe of Star Wars, just a big Jedi fan. I also do movies and lightsaber choreographies.
